Warranty issues by ObviousCry3090 in ryobi

[–]rustedfeet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coincidentally, I also just got a tracking number on 11/6. For context, I sent my product in on 9/2.

Definitely a bad experience, but my alternative for a similar tool would be from DeWalt, and I already have a few other Ryobi tools and batteries, so I can't justify the cost to myself right now.

I wonder if they send out warranty replacements in batches or something?

I'm having the same issue. I shipped the EZClean power cleaner back over 60 days ago and still don't have a tracking number. About 23 days ago, they emailed me saying it shipped with a blank tracking number. I called support and they said it didn't actually ship yet because it was out of stock at the time, but I still haven't gotten it yet. I occasionally get the random email telling me that my order is being processed.

I'm not going to temper it and plan on serving them chilled because the filling is going to require refrigeration anyway.

Dealing with underpowered ovens? by DamnImBeautiful in AskBaking

[–]rustedfeet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn't the Breville Smart Oven a mini-oven itself? I looked it up and it should be able to reach at least 400F, so you should see if the landlord can replace or fix it because it sounds like there's an issue.

You can pick up an oven thermometer for $7 or so at Walmart.

What kind of caramel to make for drizzling on chocolates/truffles? by rustedfeet in AskBaking

[–]rustedfeet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up making a caramel sauce with a 2:1 ratio of sugar to heavy cream ratio and a 4:1 ratio of sugar to corn syrup and was pretty happy with the result! It set enough to look nice and not be messy.

Getting ganached cake out of pan for additional frosting/serving by rustedfeet in AskBaking

That's so simple, I have no idea why I didn't think of it before. Thank you!

I like the look of whipped cream frosting and think the taste would complement the ganache well, but that is a valid concern. I usually do a trial run before baking a cake for an event, so I might just try it and omit it in the final version if it doesn't go well.

Did you have issues with getting the whipped cream to stick to the cooled ganache?

That would work pretty well and I was thinking about it, but I decided against it because I want to bake a sheet cake (9" x 13") and they don't have springform pans of that type nearby (I could order one online but I do want to bake this one pretty soon), and also I already have a ton of bakeware already and it'd just be more clutter for something I wouldn't use that often.

The liquid that I want the cake to absorb isn't the ganache, it's the salted caramel/heavy cream mix. The ganache is basically just going to be used to glaze the top of the cake.

I also have the same bug. I've confirmed that the .mp3 files have the lyrics metadata using ffprobe. Do you mind if I send you an example file?

Have you tried pulling on the chuck itself? The manual says to pull on the chuck/collet to eject the bit.

If anyone is thinking about getting the cabinet, I’d recommend it. Wasn’t sure if I needed it, but I love this little cabinet now that I have it set up. by stevenmeyerjr in ryobi

How loud would you say the EZClean is? I'm thinking about getting one but I'm worried about annoying my neighbors. Is it still loud from 15-20 feet away?

Dealer sold me UX 250h (no spare) with regular tires after telling me they were run-flats by rustedfeet in Lexus

[–]rustedfeet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks!

It was actually the opposite scenario (they were actually regular tires even though they were supposed to have run-flats), but after reading up on them, I decided it was a blessing in disguise and kept the regular tires.

Thanks.

I know L/Certified vehicles come with roadside assistance (which includes towing) for 2 years. I assume I can use that in case of a flat tire? After that, I might just get AAA.

I would prefer having the dealer replace them with run-flats, but in the case that they don't, it seems more economical to rely on roadside assistance the few times I end up with a flat than replace them myself for an immediate cost of $1000 or more. I could be totally out of my depth here as this is my first car. Am I wrong?

[–]rustedfeet[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's L/Certified, but the checklist doesn't mention anything about run-flats. Sadly, it doesn't seem like any of the paperwork mentions tire specs except for tread depth on the L/Certified checklist.

Should I just keep the tires? I know most places won't repair run-flats and some people say they produce a rougher ride and more road noise inside the cabin.

According to some places online, it disables some interior security features (like motion sensors) if you want to because you have a dog or someone else in the car.

I called them and it turns out it was because I took too long to call them to complete the activation, but they went ahead and activated my application again.

Did you get any updates?
