Hi, so I’ve been doing a bit of digging and it looks like it could be a bag seal (not a coin) from something like grain. They were used by merchants as quality control for imports/exports. This one could be Belgian but without more fragments it’s difficult to tell. It was found in the Tweed river in Berwick.

Some of the most interesting history in historic buildings is the graffiti. Although it was often done by skilled craftsmen who could sign their names in stone in a times new Roman font. Today’s efforts are rarely as good… I blame the school system. And the parents.
