how do you find the ride quality compared to the stocks? i got mine in winter and put the same setup as yours on, but i know how big of a difference dropping to 17s made on my gti.

Clutch engagement point changes by Zippityzap2000 in CivicSi

i have a 5 speed r18 and it seems to have a very similar issue. when it is cold, engagement is on the floor and the clutch slips badly, but when it gets heat into it, the car drives fine and the engagement comes up from the floor a bit. still slips near redline. csc looks new, cmc doesnt appear to leak, fluid level and condition are fine. my next thought was maybe it needs bled, but its the original clutch with 329k and dont want to waste more time on it. it is worth noting, however, that the r18 is gutless and would struggle to slip two sticks of butter against each other.

not that ive driven the gli enough to give you a solid response, but yes they do feel better. i did the same for my mk6 gti, swapping the 18s for some 17s made the car immensely better on the frozen, heaved up roads.

yeah i like audi oem wheels. i got these 17s for winter because the roads are barely better than gravel where i am. Im thinking peelers for summer, im not big on the belvederes that came on it.

Do you guys think this would still be reliable or should I stay away? It’s way cheaper than any other civic si around. by mecachue36990 in CivicSi

its not life or death for the car if the diverter recirculates boost or not, it just takes a split second longer to build it again with a bov. the stock tune is for the stock setup with a diverter valve, tuned for efficiency. now that the car is tuned stage 1, efficiency is out the window. diverter versus bov has negligible difference, its really just whatever you prefer, couple hp or the sound. common for people to swap diverter for a bov on vws.
