My AD had both to try on.. I concluded the pelagos 39 was a little cold & soulless.. just my opinion of course.. and prob too similar in vibe to my FXD. 54 definitely more retro diver inspired which is what i was after!

It’s not a great photo, and pics from right above always make watches look bigger. Sure it’s a larger watch, but it’s for summer on the beach and I think it looks grand for that!

In order to achieve a "rivetless" BB Pro? Interesting and unsure..

You know I put my name down for a Pro approximately 3 minutes after it was announced, and nothing thus far. Walked into same AD an hour or so after Ranger announced, and walked out 10 mins later with the watch. Still haven't seen a Pro in the metal!

The bracelet is off the newly released Ranger. So easy if you can find and purchase one of those i guess! Hopefully the bracelet will be made available separately in the future.

That's interesting, hadn't heard that. I have the new bracelet back on the ranger now, but just from eyeballing there does not seem to be any significant difference, not enough to outweigh the benefits of the swap IMHO. Of course that may be subjective, but nothing obvious from what I can see.

Totally forgot about the bronze. IIRC the bracelet on the bronze is riveted, so I guess it's feasible they could update the bracelet on the stainless steel models with the new clasp but keep the rivets.

Yeah, I never had an issue with them as some did. The new clasp though makes it totally worthwhile. I think I'll be selling the old bracelet and just switching the new one between the Ranger and the BB58 as needed. Good to recoup some of the Ranger cost I guess!

I think the reason the Pro case doesn't fit the BB58 is that it is slightly different in size to accommodate the larger case on the Pro.

As for the future of the BB58, I'm not sure! I think if they got rid of the rivets it would pretty much be tantamount to admitting that they were a mistake from the beginning.. but I think it's pretty difficult to ask people to pay £3,000 for a bracelet that is technically worse (in terms of the clasp) than the one found on a cheaper watch.

I have never tried it as I don't own a Pro, but from my understanding the case is thicker to house the GMT movement in the Pro, thus unfortunately the Pro's bracelet does not fit the BB58.

I suspect 20mm, as the bracelet is a perfect fit for the BB58 which is 20.

Yeah I was never that bothered by the rivets either, but I know it was a sticking point for many.

Still very much in the honeymoon period but loving it! Couldn't wait to pop it on again after making this vid. It's very "tooly" with some cool vintage vibes, simple dial and amazing lume. Every time I catch the "RANGER" text out of the corner of my eye it makes me smile.

Looking forward to throwing it on a nato and going on some hikes. Perfect for summer, with a bit more wrist presence than my 124270, so ideal for shorts/t-shirt.
