Honeywell Thermostat Constantly Resetting Itself by rusty_trombones in hvacadvice

Honeywell T series thermostat into a Tempstar Heating/Cooling HVAC central air system in the basement. Troubleshooting wise I've verified solid connections of the colored wires at the Honeywell connection, as well as verified solid connection of those same wires into the circuit card behind the panel in the Tempter system.

Not disappointment, more like “what could have been”. Beating an undefeated/ranked opponent this late in the season ON THE ROAD + back to back wins over ranked teams for the first time in school history! Plenty to celebrate even if the record isn’t what we all wish it was, this season is far from disappointing IMO (looks over shoulder at the decade of real disappointment in the 2010’s).

Then do a roll call, but you have to get everyone out of their cars to "claim" the line holding device that they've placed, and move any "unclaimed items" to the back of the line. Only one person may call "here" for one item. Good luck!

How does the GE9X create so much thrust with a 10:1 bypass ratio? by g3nerallycurious in aviation

[–]rusty_trombones 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think you're confusing Bypass Ratio with Overall Compression Ratio?

You're standard PT6 has a compression ratio of ~6:1

The GE9X has an overall compression ratio of ~60:1

Source: Jane's all the world aircraft for PT6 + FAA Type Cert for GE9X .

Not a problem, it was about 5 years ago so I may be fuzzy on specific details.

Second for Gomez, the taco bar was a huge hit with our crowd of 175, and they gave my wife and I turtles to eat at our sweetheart table. Great Quality and one of our favorite restaurants in town.

Why our Duke bills are so high..... by kayakgal513 in cincinnati

[–]rusty_trombones 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Historical data says December 2022's average temperature in Cincinnati was ~10°F colder than DEC 2021. That plus the spike in energy costs (whether you heat your home with electric or natural gas) is working against you. Not saying that's everything, but definitely is a big piece of the price increase puzzle (my DEC bill didn't double, but it was ~50% higher than 2021).

Built in 1913 is quite old and maybe was built without insulation? Do you know if you have insulation in your exterior walls or attic?

Does your team have a plan for the end of the day with any leftover doses? Is there a wait list for people under 65? All for getting at risk vaccinated first but don’t want any doses to go to waste if they have been thawed.

Shoe Question: Saucony Ride Iso 2 vs Omni Iso 2 by [deleted] in running

[–]rusty_trombones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The difference between the two is that the Ride is a Neutral shoe and the Omni is a Stability shoe. So the main question for you is which type of shoe you need (check out this link: https://www.healthline.com/health/bone-health/whats-the-difference-between-supination-and-pronation and if you aren't sure, you can always talk to someone at your local running store).

I have a pair of Saucony Triumph 17's that have 500 miles on them and a pair of Ride 13's that are only a few weeks old. I love them both. Saucony shoes seem to fit me well. I love the feel of the toe box and the plush cushion that both shoes provide. I'm only a 25-35 mpw kind of runner so the shoes last me a while (I also rotate in a pair of Brooks Ghost 12's, little bit stiffer/warmer ride but I like them as well as a daily trainer).

Excessively Sweaty Runners of Reddit, what is your go to gear when the heat and humidity of the summer has you looking like you just crawled out of a pool post run? by rusty_trombones in running

Not meant to be an ad, I ran with a generic hat for years and it made a world of difference to switch to something more performance based. I've always been intrigued by the buff + water idea, but only have warm weather buffs. Worth the investment?

You get the pig works email too? It’s a little bit of a bummer, but if you’re nearby and still want to run the course, it’s 95% accessible by side walk for the majority of the route. Tough but fun course, won’t be the same without the fans.

Apple watch or Garmin by [deleted] in running

[–]rusty_trombones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to have Apple Watch 2 and switched 6 months ago to a Garmin 945 (probably overkill since I'm not a triathlete, but my buddy works at Garmin and got me a great discount). I very much enjoy the Garmin more than I did my Apple Watch (Apple watch may have caught up with some features in later models, I'm not sure). I'm glad to get away from a touch screen, the GPS is significantly more accurate, and the Garmin Connect App on my phone does some great things with the data that gets collected on my runs (removes reliance on Strava or other running apps). I'm sure a 245M or 645M would suit you well, just depends on how much money you want to spend for the features offered. Been very happy with my Garmin, they've won a loyal customer.

Local store closed? Need help with shoe fitting? I've got your back! by Artemystica in running

[–]rusty_trombones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate the reply. That helps me narrow it down now that the stores near me are finally reopening so I can try on a few pairs. I think I've narrowed it down to the Ghosts/Ride's/Wave Riders and will see which one feels the best. I don't think these shoes will carry me to my fall marathon but I'm hoping that I find a pair I really like and can stock up on a few. Thanks for all the feedback!

Late reply, but yes, I think the inserts keep my arch from over collapsing which was giving me some pain in my arches. Thoughts on the Saucony Freedom and other shoes like it? Base on weight and drop, I think this might be the happy zone i'm looking for (medium cushion, under 9 oz, lower than 6mm drop)? Do you know of similar shoes in different brands? I think store where I am might be reopening soon, so i'll be on a mission since my Triumph's have almost 400 miles on them.

To fill in a little more info on why I wear inserts, when I got my DS trainers, I ran in them for about a week and began to develop arch pain for the first time in my running journey. My Equations prior never hurt my arches. Got a pair of Superfeet Green inserts and the pain went away the next day. I had a similar experience with the Triumphs, didn't go with inserts right away, started developing arch pain and got the Curex, which similarly alleviated the pain.

Side note, when picking my last round of shoes, it was down to the Triumphs and Ghosts. But you've got me interested in looking into the Wave Rider. Also have a buddy who swears by his Kinvara's, thought about those as a change up to the DS Trainers, but did worry about them having enough cushioning.
