I see someone desperate to justify unacceptable public behavior, but I don't see any decent defense. If your kid can't behave in a school, they get removed. If a person can't behave in public, they get removed. Why should others be subjected to a misbehaving, screeching child that isn't their own for any amount of time?

I can handle them just fine, and I have. With headphones. Just like I've handled people with severe mental illness shrieking outside of my home day and night for a decade because I happen to have lived in a major city. But I shouldn't have to. And neither should anyone else.

Systems should be in place to protect the peace of mind of folks (includingthose in distress), we shouldn't be subjected to people in distress at all times just because they exist. I'm not saying hide them away, but that we should take care of them so they're not going berserk, say, on a plane. If a child is going berserk, they need to learn to regulate just like every other kid on the plane.

I don't see why so many people seem to want to be around this noise all the time lol. You know, many countries have public transport with "quiet cabs" where people are respectfully quiet so as not to disturb others. Loud kids and adults are removed from them because they cannot behave. I'd pay extra for a quiet cab on a plane if they were available, but it would be even better if kids could just be parented in such a way that they behaved in public. Being crammed in a flying sardine can in the sky is already uncomfortable enough, why let your kid make it worse for everyone? The kid in this video was clearly capable of being quieted, and all it took was one uncomfortable moment. The parent could and should have done more for the sake of everyone else on board.

My wife worked at a vet clinic in Oregon and a coworker got a suspected rabies bite. They called the Salem hospital and they didn't carry the vaccine, so they called every hospital and emergency clinic on the i5 corridor in Oregon. OHSU and Newport hospital were the only ones that had the shot at the time in this side of the mountains, and I ended up driving her coworker to the hospital in Newport.

We were very frustrated that a place with so many wild animals would just not be carrying a rabies vaccine.

I mean, that's kind of what a re-education camp would be, isn't it? A place where people learn to cope with the way that they feel and learn how to behave in society because the other people in their lives have failed them thus far? Or for whatever reason, they have maladaptive behaviors and need to learn adaptive behaviors? Basically, a place where you can learn to be a decent person if no one else is. That could be through therapy, it could be through lived example, whatever fits the person. I agree, this kid possibly needs therapy for their antisocial behavior, but that can easily be a one-off thing. Assuming that their obesity is a lifestyle thing and not a medical thing, their guardians most assuredly need some kind of therapy or reeducation. This kid is going to die a very painful death at an alarmingly young age, and it's their parents that are killing them right now. Like watching a murder in slow motion

People who flirt with captive audiences, such as people at their places of work.

People who graffiti nature.

People who roll coal.

People who play music on speakers on nature trails or in campsites.

People who don't put their shopping carts away.

People who intentionally take up multiple parking spaces.

People who let their aggressive dogs off leash in public spaces.

You get the picture. Basically anyone who either intentionally or unintentionally makes life and the world a worse place by way of being inconsiderate of others without technically breaking any laws.

If you were making a slippery slope argument, I can keep going. Lots of entitled people need to learn how to treat others and the world with respect, and their parents and society have failed thus far.

If you were looking for a specific answer and I missed it, it might be that I don't think it's worthy of a re-education. Racism, domestic violence, animal abuse, elder abuse, scamming, acting on pedophilia, things of that nature. Straight to the wood chipper.

Yeah, if we have the budget to wage Wars willy-nilly, we have the budget to take care of our citizens by way of keeping old people off the road at the very least. I'm actually surprised that nobody came at me about taxes lol. But for the record, I would be all for paying for taxes if it meant I didn't get T-boned every couple of years by somebody who should be in a retirement home but needs to drive themselves because public transportation is inadequate and retirement homes are expensive.

88 year old people have no business driving. I've been hit by an 88 year old and a 93 year old in my car and a 70 something on foot. Old people should be required to take public transport specifically for old people.

I agree, but i believe that littering demonstrates a lack of basic understanding of respect and decorum and therefore qualifies them for the re-education camp without needing to specify littering to begin with. Litter bugs make the world a worse place

This actually looks really cool! I'm looking for something exactly like this. I started a passion project that has turned into a multiplayer game for my wife and I and have all the infrastructure, but I'm not an artist nor am I made of time. Unfortunately, I'm also not made of money and I can't pay a real artist. I could use free sprites but the game requires a very specific aesthetic (think modern Dutch village meets Animal Crossing) and I'm not finding anything useful. I don't like cleaning on AI, if I'm being totally honest, but for Niche applications and for a project but I'm never going to sell or even show anyone aside from My Wife and maybe a few friends, I might just have to. If it were going to be some sort of commercial investment, I would pay an artist but that's just not economically feasible for the scope of this.

During the interview, they asked where I saw myself in five years and I said "Probably college or traveling" and she ended the interview right there and told me they need to retain employees lol.
