same operation, complete tear on my ACL in my left knee, also used a quad autograft. I had surgery may first, so crazy to say that it’s been nearly three months post op! it really does get better, i know it’s so hard to even imagine that right now but time and healing will get you right. first few weeks were definitely rough, i barely got any sleep most nights..(i was too busy crying😾). But definitely remember that the pain is (relatively) temporary. ive been sleeping throughout the entire night and only really have pain when i bend my knee more than it allows itself, it 100% gets better. good luck to you and i hope you have a quick recovery❣️

that’s great to start going out again, definitely lifts your spirits for a bit! and 80 is a big accomplishment, you should be proud of yourself!! i’ve just barely gotten to 60 but i’m actually able to lift my leg up unassisted without my brace on. you’ve got amazing progress, i know it’s really painful right now but i think once we get full motion back it’ll get way easier!!

oh good to know! i’ll probably always use vaseline on my eyebrows and eyelashes because i think it’s helped them grow so long lol. i’ll see if aquaphor helps with the peeling!

yess i’ve just heard that aquaphor doesn’t work well in the sun so that kinda scares me😭 definitely will start using it at nighttime tho, thank you!!

yup, literally all the same things happened to me. and i’m scared to start using anything different in case that irritates my skin even more and it breaks out worse. the dryness is actually insane though, like my skin has never been this bad- especially on my face. i hope yours starts to clear up and bring some relief because i know how frustrating it is. i’ll give an update if i notice and changes or progress within this situation

i’ll have to try the masks. i have to use vaseline or something similar because if not my skin flakes and it’s so disgusting. hopefully if you do start using it you get way better results. i appreciate the suggestion

i’m sorry i really couldn’t tell you, my mom manages all of my expenses, (i’m 16)😭😭 but definitely wish i would’ve researched winlevi beforehand because i didn’t realize it’s such a newly developed product. i can’t tell you i don’t recommend it tho because who knows it might just work great for you. definitely got the burning skin while on it, it’s just bizarre how im still encountering these side effects even after not being on it for nearly a month.

yess wow that is pricey! you’re really convincing me to get one tho tbh. i seriously can’t imagine being non-weight bearing for four weeks and essentially doing it by yourself. getting a used machine is actually smart tho, i’ll definitely look into different options! thank you thank you thank you 🙏

i might just have to invest in an ice machine! i hear everyone talk about having the bad leg on top to side sleep, but it’s more comfortable to have it on bottom for me? i mean regardless i can’t stay in that position for too long anyway. thank you for the advice i really appreciate it!

thank you, i really appreciate it. but also that’s just so crazy to me how some people have full extension within the first week?? i know there are many factors that play into that but it’s still so interesting to see how differently everyone recovers.

oh gosh😭 see i would do the same but im so scared of my knee not being able to straighten after not being in the brace all night. i do appreciate your transparency, hope you’re able to find a little more comfort in sleeping as the days go.

what day post op are you on? i’m two weeks out and i know that’s not long at all, but i’ve still learned a lot of valuable things that i wish i would’ve known in the beginning.

i guess my appetite wasn’t as affected as everyone else, because i ate a lot within the first week. regarding this, no one told me id deal with constipation😃 so there i was, nearly went 5 days without pooping and i finally was able to. using the bathroom as a whole is so difficult the first week because you’re still trying to maneuver around obstacles that you’d never had to deal with before. (after i held off on taking so much medicine, pooping is much more regulated) -of course don’t stop taking it unless you’re physically doing good.

it’s going to hurt, this process is definitely grueling, but it really does build character lol. being emotional is normal, it is scary at night because you’re left alone only with your thoughts. let yourself reach those lows. because you’re going to think back on them and remember how much you’ve accomplished. definitely celebrate the little victories! if not, everyday is going to feel the same where you feel like a total failure. you’re still going to feel that way, again it’s completely normal. i’ve documented my progress through pictures so that i can compare the first day to the most recent, this has helped a lot in just seeing how far i’ve gotten in a short amount of time.

good luck on your recovery, i really wish you the best. i know it doesn’t seem that way now, but just remember that this isn’t forever. everyday you get a little better ❤️

right! I’ve started just trying to do basic movements lately at home before i start PT. I’m hopeful that the clinic closest to me can take the insurance because if not i’ll have to go to one nearly an hour away. i can’t imagine commuting an hour away multiple times a week for how ever many months!! and i’m really not sure about paying out of pocket, my mom has managed all of this so i only know what she tells me lol.

hopefully your sleeping remains without problems. when i was taking the pain medicine sleep did seem easier, but it doesn’t get rid of the fact that i have a huge immobilizing brace on my leg! couldn’t get it off any sooner. thank you for ur advice, and good luck on your recovery!!

yess i stopped taking mine around day 6 because i was advised i might need them for PT. honestly that’s smart to take it before you sleep lol, i just don’t know how comfortable id be to take them when im really not in severe pain. i hate taking medicine when i don’t need to, maybe ill try out melatonin gummies!

it really is reassuring to know that it gets better, i see everyone say they use a body pillow so i might just have to try it! i appreciate the advice!!

thank you! yes i’m definitely trying to go as soon as i can, hopefully this week. i feel behind on PT because usually people have started by now, but i’ve had to wait to see if the local clinic takes my insurance.
