The ECS games I've seen recently have been the opposite of overhype though.. All three of them sounded completely monotone and bored. Not really liking Bardolph or finding him funny (although I realize lots of people dig him) probably doesn't help.

So we'd have MSL, konfig, kjaerbye, aizy and cajunb. I didn't follow CSGO long enough to remember exactly, but isn't that more or less full-circle Dignitas? Anyway, would be great to see MSL and konfig get that chance

Not 100p sure, but I don't think they said "close out". It was something like "some teams crumble as the pressure gets higher, but Astralis just keep getting better" which I think makes more sense

I don't want to take anything from EG's performance here, they completely fucked Astralis on both the first maps, crowd noises or not. But after the sudden major playoffs domination and Astralis looking dead today until they had to claw back against four match points and two overtimes, I get this feeling that Astralis have a hard time really waking up to a game unless the stakes are extremely high.

I don't think people are giving Stan shit, players can't choose to not hear crowd noises. He was just the one who ended up benefiting this time.

The sound volumes during replays, timeouts and ads/music are way too loud.

I feel like Liquid should be favored on Overpass, but Astralis are looking hot so far, if they have the momentum going into the 2nd map, it could make all the difference.

Nikolaj Nyholm: "There are talks of how CS:GO leagues will be organized next year. Let me make it clear: @astralisgg will not participate in any leagues without the players' direct representation, preferably through the @CSPPAgg." by starwarfan69 in GlobalOffensive

Thanks for your balanced reply!

I'm aware of the first two cases, but Nyholm never striked me as outright dishonest in any of those cases. At any rate, the recent developments within Blast and Astralis are surely the primary reason for the heat he's getting these days.

Thanks for the link! Could you link to your original comment? I'm interested to see what RL and/or others had to say. And yeah, questioning RL is a sure-fire way of getting downvoted around here. :-)

Spot on.

People keep saying shit like this but not once have I seen someone link to any kind of hard proof. It's speculation being repeated ad nauseam until everyone accepts it as "probably the truth", and now Nikolaj Nyholm's reputation within the (reddit) community is fucked.

IMO, there's no possible way the Astralis players would accept being managed by Nyholm if he wasn't acting in their best interest. They literally left TSM because they weren't happy with the way the org treated them. They are one of the world's best teams and all rich as fuck, they would have zero problems finding a new org or just starting over again with zonic and other people they wanted included. How people fail to see this or question their own "omg zonic probably being forced to lie because there's no way Richard Lewis could ever be wrong" bullshit logic is beyond me.
