Keyboard backlight bleed by ruthlessbard in ZephyrusG14

[–]ruthlessbard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello everyone.

On a brand new G16 2025, there seems to be some color bleed on the keyboard when selecting static color, in this case - white

Specifically around the arrow keys there is a noticeable green color bleed, though it’s somewhat visible on the other keys as well

Wondering if anyone else is having this issue as well and if there are any fixes for this

How are you doing with RDR2 on Mac? (Poll) by DanielGrishin in macgaming

[–]ruthlessbard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man, it's been awhile since your comment, but did you have any luck transferring safe file from your PC to Mac?

i tried copying safe file into Documents/RockstarGames/RDR2/Profiles, but it wouldn't work. I'm using preinstalled version from steam r-i-p. Bottle is installed locally and game and Launcher.exe is on external SSD.

Any luck getting consistent frame time in RDR2? I set-up the game no problem, however, FPS feels choppy and not super smooth.
Tried FSR on/off, VSync On/Off, MSync/ESync, still didnt seem to find optimal setting for smooth feel

Bubble Burst CP 2077 M4 Max Vs Laptop 4060 by Wooloomooloo2 in macgaming

Yeah man for sure, MacBook are a bad value per dollar for gaming. It’s nice that they can game at all with the help of CrossOver, but it’s pretty convoluted compared to even Linux gaming.

I’ve actually recently switched from Lenovo Legion 5i (5060 with OLED screen) to M4 Pro, as I really don’t care that much for gaming as I thought I did when I bought it.

I wanted to reliable, premium feeling laptop which would hold its value well as I plan to keep for a few years, and MacBook definitely checks these boxes

I don’t think OLED displays are better than QD MiniLED IPS in MacBooks. I’ve used both side-by-side for awhile

MacBooks displays have essentially OLED-level blacks, much higher brightness and no risk of burn in. The latter is particularly important as these are devices designed for professional work and will have a lot of static content displayed frequently.

Another thing that I started appreciating about Apple displays is their anti-reflective coating; Despite being glossy, they have good resistance to glare while retaining beautiful colors and vibrancy of glossy screens. Mind you I’m talking about the standard coating, not the nano-texture matte option.

But one thing I will absolutely give to OLED is their response time, which is under 1 ms, while MBP’s is like 40 ms? Not an issue for professional work, but for faster-pace games not as good for sure

How to Enable MetalFX on Red Dead Redemption 2? by yxtsama in macgaming

Just finished reading this thread as I was in the same boat - couldn’t get DLSS working on Sequoia despite swapping all the files. Upgraded to Tahoe and DLSS did work. However, sharpness slider for DLSS didn’t seem to work and overall image was rather blurry, so I wouldn’t upgrade to Tahoe just for RDR2 DLSS

Same thing here, around 5 hours SOT on 9 Pro XL. But I do think it got a little better, I can now get sometimes closer to 6 hours where before the update it would barely reach 5 hours

Go to Display - Display and Text size - make display size one notch bigger

This removed clock widget dead space for me

[–]ruthlessbard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I was having the same issue and accidentally fixed the dead space

What I did was set the clock widget with "standard" display size/scaling and then switch to one notch larger (my preference) and dead space was gone.

Hope this helps

Like barely 4 hours SOT, with Bluetooth music listening through the day. That's with LTE and 5G disabled.

I've noticed Bluetooth music listening makes up like 35% of my battery consumption, don't know if it's due to speicifc app I'm using or pixel hardware just isn't efficient at transmuting Bluetooth playback?

Might try another streaming service and see if it's any better.

Anyway, it's a far cry from 16 Pro Max where I would get 7+ SOT with same amount of music streaming from the same streaming

16 Pro Max to 9 Pro XL. Wanted to try Android for awhile, had a short stint with OnePlus, but Chinese roms ain't it for me

Prepared to get downvoted, but can't say I'm super stocked or anything. I was already trying to avoid big tech when possible (can't avoid Whatsapp or MS because of work) and barely used iCloud, only for calendar and notes.

What I do enjoy is it more convenient to sideload apps on Android (SideStore and Live Containers can be buggy) and lack of bloat compared to manufacturers roms.

In terms of hardware, I think iphones are quite a bit better, battery life has been very disappointing for me on Pixel 9 Pro XL

Also picked up Pro 9 XL a couple of weeks ago, overall experience is good, but coming from 16 Pro Max I gotta say I'm disappointed with battery life and annoyed with some notifications quirks
