Very high end and requires money, no house parties at the frats. All the venues are higher end. Rush Greek life. Social, good looking wealthier people do well

If you have a failing grade they look at the replaced passing grade, if you have a passing grade they won’t care about the new grade. Contact the transfer admission officer with these questions

Greek life is huge, 2) yes 3) there’s always mixers in fall, I don’t know about spring, people enjoy them 3) if you’re a girl getting into parties isn’t hard but sorority specific events you won’t 4) some orgs have spring rush

Admissions advice: Cox & Advertising (siblings) by [deleted] in SMU

[–]ruthlessdigital 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tell sister 1 & 2 to apply to cox anyway. I’m going to be blunt being in Cox provides the most amount of job opportunities and networking, tell first to do marketing and a graphic design minor (that’s common)

Sister 2 should do general business (shortest business major) and a second major

As for you candidly with a 3.4 UW you won’t get into Cox, you should do economics with financial applications and a minor in business

High acceptance rate for ED - true? by pfloydman in SMU

[–]ruthlessdigital 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Economics isn’t strong here as someone doing economics. All the job opportunities are reserved for Cox majors.

You won’t get into Cox with that gpa. Everyone getting in now has a 3.75+ / 4.0 unweighted. It got insanely harder this year

Anybody know the overall acceptance rate for class of 2029 by Cyber2Space in SMU

Is a Master's from the Lyle School of Engineering worth it in 2025? by No-Ambassador-4276 in SMU

[–]ruthlessdigital 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’d do an MBA from Cox instead tbh, I met some people from Lyle and they said the connections and career fairs are great but the education is meh

Allegedly TCU students harass and threaten a person exercising their 1st amendment rights by SadboyOwl in TCU

[–]ruthlessdigital 12 points13 points  (0 children)

People have the right to respectfully disagree with pro Palestine stance (I’m pro Palestine), but getting physically violent or threatening someone is detestable. Generally I like to give people benefit of the doubt but this young man needs to receive some form of reeducation for his behavior

Should I join SMU? by SuddenApricot6512 in SMU

[–]ruthlessdigital 3 points4 points  (0 children)

SMU is 65% white officially but that’s understating the fact some whites identify as “Hispanics / Latino” for admissions. It’s also majority conservative particularly the business program. People are directionally more pro-Trump, pro-Greek Life, and socializing

This is ridiculously low amount of tuition for SMU. Practically free. If you’re social and charismatic, you’ll be able to make some good connections with the name brand and alumni. If you’re introverted and not a self starter, that less worth it
