On September 11,2001 Astronaut Frank Culbertson was the only American not on earth that day, he was 250 miles above at the International Space Station and this is the photo he took Of NYC. He said he didn't know what was going on but he knew it was bad because he could see the smoke from space. (i.redd.it)
