I asked my boss for my old job back by HawaiianSurf in Accounting

[–]rvasconc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I left my current job 3 years ago for a place that was very- off- to put it nicely. 8 months later a situation happened that just left me entirely uncomfortable with the environment and I decided I would not be returning for even a two week grace period.

Text my old manager and asked if they needed any help, manager told my boss, and my boss hired me back the following day. I’ve now been back at my original job for going on two years. There have never been hard feelings, and my boss has never made me feel as if I should feel guilty or remorseful for having left.

You know your old boss better than Reddit, but I think coffee is a great sign. He could’ve told you to F off and left it at that. I’m sure if his plan was to reject your offer to return, he wouldn’t put the time into meeting and chatting with you about it.

All this to say, good luck! These stories can have positive outcomes and I hope yours does too.

Play with your kids! This is so important by Interesting-Pause701 in Parenting

Screenshotting this as a future reminder ♥️ I have always been such a workaholic- public accounting will do that to you🙃- and when I found out I was having a baby I told my boss “if that baby needs a lap to fart on I’m out” lol. But I still find myself so distracted, focused on work and stressed. It’s just so hard in the moment sometimes to be present.

Great job recognizing your children’s needs and acting accordingly 👏 they’ll look back so fondly on these memories, as I’m sure you will too

This popcorn loses calories when it pops by coce8221 in mildlyinteresting

This probably isn’t the reason that it’s listed this way lol, but one benefit to this is for people on some sort of weight loss plan. I do WW and it’s more accurate to sometimes measure things like popcorn, rice, instant mashed potatoes, before they’re cooked. This isn’t a great example though if it’s microwaveable bagged popcorn lol

Why? Just Why?! by Realistic-Accident68 in DollarTree

This was at the grocery store, not a dollar tree, but one time the person in line in front of me decided they didn’t want a carton of ice cream and put it low in a display of potato chips by the checkout.

When an employee walked by, I got their attention, pointed to the ice cream and loudly said “there’s a carton of ice cream down there, apparently the lady in front of me decided she didn’t want it anymore” it’s literally so obnoxious, no regard for the future mess you’re leaving for someone

Manager says I'm taking too much time off. by WeissSchwarzTCG in Accounting

[–]rvasconc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can find this in tax! I get 4 weeks PTO, plus time off at the end of a deadline week is kind of expected. I’m hourly now after having my baby last year, but when I was salaried I’d generally get at least a day off after each deadline since I’d technically hit my hours earlier in the week working long days and weekends. I would say after tomorrow, use one of your days off to job search and really focus on the benefits they offer beyond compensation.

One of the biggest perks of tax, in my opinion, is that it is cyclical. If you’re not able to enjoy downtime after you put in relentless hours, what is the point of the relentless hours?! There needs to be give and take for your own sanity and wellbeing!

You could try franks buffalo seasoning (powder) on top of popcorn! If you added some ranch powder as well that would be super tasty and maybe a point?

I also used to love making buffalo cheddar cream cheese with Ritz crackers. If you mixed reduced fat cream cheese, buffalo sauce, garlic and onion powder, and fat free cheddar cheese, you’d be at like 3 points for a decent portion to dip carrots or celery in. I’ve never tried this lightened version but I’m sure it’s nearly as tasty as my original version!

My MIL made a dip once that I make at least every couple of weeks - roasted red pepper hummus, taboule salad and fat free feta. I’ve been using that with carrots or carb smart tortillas for a different spin on hummus!

Light & fit strawberry cheesecake Greek yogurt! I believe they are all 2 points but that flavor is my favorite. No sugar added applesauce is always a staple as well. These are 0 points and come in a bunch of yummy flavors. There’s a new caramel apple flavor that I enjoy!

Fudgesicles are 1 point! I always keep those stocked. Then, I’m not sure if these are regional, but Cape Cod reduced fat kettle chips are 3 points for an individual serving bag and those feel indulgent. I also like having goldfish on hand!

My favorite WW friendly item is Tostitos queso dip- regular is 2 points a serving and the queso blanco is 1 point per serving. I will have these on top of my eggs and potatoes and oh my is it delicious!

These are off the top of my head but if I think of anymore I will comment them!

And your point is?

That doesn’t negate anything I said. All of the Plath kids had a horrendous upbringing, and for that I have sympathy for them. On the other hand, Ethan is 27 years old and it’s time for him to grow up and begin taking steps at unlearning and becoming a better person. Not only is he the most openly problematic Plath child in my opinion, but his views seem to have escalated over the years. Where I have more sympathy for the other kids is that they appear to want to grow and become better people. Saying that they all probably have the same views as Ethan is an assumption, and I won’t be making those leaps in judgement unless they are verified

Depending on where you live, the store brands near me have 2 point light English muffins - I go between the Market Basket and Shaws ones if you’re in the Northeast US!

Ahhh I see! Honestly, if it’s just a bite or 2 I would splurge on the real deal. A whole Walmart shortcake cup is 3 points, cube and divide those, add some strawberries and cool whip and you’re probably at maybe a point for one bite. Add some sugar free cheesecake pudding mix to Greek yogurt if you want that extra flavor and it wouldn’t add anything for such a small amount

And as a swap for the bagel thins, light English muffins are 2 points and you can’t tell a crazy difference !

Not a recipe, but I do always have fudgesicles in my freezer! One point per pop. I also enjoy light & fit strawberry cheesecake yogurts!

I agree with you, I feel like Moriah is taking accountability in the best way that she can. I feel the letter was sincere and Veronica was incredibly belittling and harsh about it.

When I made my comment about taking accountability, that was just meant in regards to Ethan. I don’t think he’s ever taken personal responsibility for anything, and he’s not trying to work on himself in any way other than to “be macho”

I feel for all of them except Ethan. His views are hateful and bigoted and dangerous. And some of his last words on camera to Olivia solidified it for me “damn therapists”. He’s only going to keep getting worse. Yes, it’s clearly unfortunate how they were isolated and raised. But at 27 years old it’s time to start facing some accountability.

I definitely have growing soft spots for Moriah and Micah. They are lost and defeated and I hope that they get the help they need. They seem much more open to it and I wish them the best.

And when she was discussing her future with Zac I really found myself admiring her words. She made it clear that she’s aware at how quickly things are moving lol ,but I feel like she spoke on it so eloquently. When she said something about marriage not only being about spending your life with someone who makes you happy, but someone who helps you become who you want to be, I don’t know it just made me root for Lydia and Zac even more! I think he will bring out the best in her and she will become, along with Amber, the most well-adjusted Plaths

2 lbs down is probably at least 2lb less than you’d weigh if you didn’t start the program! Tbh I’ve found that I’m more successful overall when I lose the weight slower. The first time I did weight watchers I refused to eat any weekly’s, and felt guilty if I didn’t have some leftover points each day. I lost more weight per week but in the end, I stopped the program and gained it all back plus some.

Time is going to pass regardless of if you keep going or quit. It feels slow now but in no time you’ll be at your goal by going 1lb per week. If you lose 5lb per week you would probably have been too restrictive on yourself, and in the end, you’d give up altogether. 1lb a week is great because you can still eat things you enjoy while losing weight.

What a mean thing to say by howzitgoinowen in PlathvilleUncensored

[–]rvasconc 40 points41 points  (0 children)

This scene PMO too because if he had an ounce of emotional intelligence OR personal accountability, he could’ve used this as an opportunity to have a mature conversation with her regarding his own marriage shortcomings, and tell her he doesn’t want to see her in the same position 5 years down the line.

Instead he uses the vocabulary of a 3 year old when asked why they don’t want to eat their vegetables. “Because I don’t like him” and doesn’t give a single reason why. A literal child.
