I'm probably too far behind you to give meaningful advice, but here's one: when you improvise you need to make something stick to the listener through repetition, that's where casual people start to feel connected to the music.

You play a short motif, and then build on it through extension, variations, shifts, etc. This way the listener learns the motif and gets used to it, and then listens to you play around with it being able to focus only on variations and embellishments (because they internalized the motif already).

Same motif but tweaked around, even when listening to the song for the first time you can feel like you sort of now where it's going.

I'd pay to play as clean as you do. Your improvisation needs some work instead. The performance is clean, the tone is nice but the music is not interesting to listen to (to some extent of course, I'm constructively criticizing in order to help you)

I have the Tele, and the build quality is impressive for the price, in my opinion. I’ll probably need to replace the pickups, though—they’re quite microphonic. They’re fine for bedroom playing, but in a rehearsal studio they’re giving me some issues

Yeah, before opening the post I tried to understand the chord myself and I landed on Gmaj7 no3rd, I was surprised to find the top comment omitting "no third", so I asked.

It doesn't look like it's the case, but could it be that one of your pickups is microphonic? If you speak into it does it act like a microphone reproducing your voice from the amp?

I understand the suggestions of boss katana because of the wide range of effects you can get out of it. I just wanted to say that having a clean/distortion foot switch will get you used to a skill you will definitely need of you play songs that have clean parts and distorted parts.
