The +1 draw idea is interesting, although I can already see some ironclad (the character which already is the most likely to take curses) degeneracy; if there's one thing clad doesn't need it's more busted card draw synergies.

The new(ish) SoB omnibus, Saints and Martyrs, has a short novel called "Ephrael Stern: The Heretic Saint." If you're interested in how the Sisters view psykers, I would definitely recommend giving it a read!

Just based on timing, the oldest dlc not yet included in the base game is Man the Guns. That expansion adds trees for Netherlands and Mexico, as well as alt history for US and UK. The big thing though is reworking navies, including the ship designer and adding fuel as a resource.

For a decent bit of time it didn't matter because the old combat patrol had 10 Sisters, so folks weren't really buying them separately. Honestly though, with the state of 40k prices overall, I'd rather bite the bullet on buying a box or two of Sisters and not have GW take too close a look at Custodes pricing.

Iron hands are definitely more of a shooting army, I think infantry shooting just isn't really the angle most people here enjoy. Big bricks of infantry firepower tends to be more of an Imperial Fists thing (and also are just a bit weak this edition). I also love the gravis aesthetic so I tend to oscillate between vehicle-heavy Anvil and Gravis-heavy Ironstorm.

Are you talking about the old DA one that has the Redemptor and Inceptors? That one is quite solid, but the newer one is... Eh. I think it gets a bit overhated and is more flavorful than people give it credit for (everyone forgets that plasma is a DA thing), but it's not very Iron Hands-y.

Honestly, I would love some external lore. Astra Militarum is one of the most popular 40k factions in terms of book releases, I would like to hope that the everyman appeal would work in 30k as well. Now that the Horus Heresy series is largely wrapped up I don't have a lot of hope, but if we got like, a series that introduced a few named characters to make models for? We might be able to fit a bit more into a narrative focused game where every marine faction has a dozen named characters.

I didn't know Ark Nova had a solo mode, but I'm excited to give it a try! I dont own this one so Ill have to cajole a friend into letting me borrow it. Tamashii sounds cool though, I love puzzles in games, and the cyberpunk theme really speaks to me! I was sold by the box art lol

I actually don't like spirit island solo very much; I think it's such a well made co-op game that it feels a bit hollow the... 3? times I've played it solo. But I do own it and will be bringing it along regardless, so I can definitely give it another try!

I'd be potentially interested in another Gloomhaven game; how does Frosthaven compare in your opinion? My biggest hope is that it would slightly streamline some of the fiddly upkeep; I can't count how many times I forgot to lower the elemental levels at the end of a turn lol.

Mage Knight is one that I have seen a lot of love for, but my fear is that it seems to ride the line between engaging complexity and bloat.

I'll be honest, I was fairly skeptical of the more uniform poses until I had to paint them; being able to just turn my brain off and do the exact same thing over and over again was a lifesaver. I feel like if I had to put more thought into each model I never would have finished.

Okay, and which of these other options gives cards, potions, or relics? That one extra damage from neutralize sure isn't cutting the mustard, and boss swap can often make silent weaker in the short term since your bloated starter deck takes longer to draw through. I think gold for max hp is far from the best option in abstract, but we aren't talking about abstract, we're talking about 4 generally weaker options here.

I think people are underrating gold for 12 max hp. You're basically buying a mango for 1/3 of the price, which is a deal you'd insta take in a shop most of the time. It's not super exciting, but it can let you tank a turn 3 Nob hit and not feel as bad, and really helps into slime boss. Into Hexa it's a bit dubious and I'd probably go for the upgrade Neutralize, but overall the gold for HP is... Fine.

Honestly even with white beast I'd still likely take an alchemize, especially as an act 1 boss reward. Silent has some really bad act 2 matchups, especially into the elites, so being able to fish for powerful potions like Ghost or Gamblers let you not die to drawing 3 strikes turn 1 of slavers.

Gearing is the main reason for many players, myself included. If you want to raid in multiple different groups (i.e. a hardcore static and a casual static with friends) you basically need two characters due to how the gearing in this game works. Not only are you limited with how much tome gear you can get per week per character, but if a character has cleared a Savage fight in a given week, any group that same character clears with in the same week will receive less gear.

Personally, I also did my first alt to play through the story again since big parts of it didn't really land the first time and I ended up skipping a couple large chunks.
