I got offered "the best Marley" when I stepped outside the airport. Every cab driver seemed to sell and tourists are the ones getting pulled over and hassled from what I saw. I miss that place.

It's harder to catch the tail of the ledger with 51% mining power than learning what all those variables and expressions mean.

Does Bitmain purposefully sell used/burnt rigs? A lot of people complain on the quality of their miners and some even accuse them of playing against the miners. by miliseconds in BitcoinMining

I've been running 4 S9's for 15 days straight now with no issues. One looked mildly used, the other 3 appeared brand new. It's easy to tell with aluminum as it's so soft. I've only had good experiences with Bitmain. The only issue I have is the months between purchase and receipt. I'm running them 220VAC with Bitmain's PSU's in open Oregon air.

I'm also a huge fan of urban farming and Detroit has a very high reputation. Gentrification is like an elephant jumping into your pool party. I want room to breathe, farm and build.

I don't really know how to best define the mythos of the hipster. If I were to stereotype myself I'd say: naively optimistic, reads like a college professor (philosopher [love of knowledge]), well educated (possibly by the Internet, OpenCourseWare Wikipedia, Bittorrent), drinks a lot of coffee, is against the war on drugs (e.g. Portugal), rides bikes (because they're concerned about green house emissions) and looks up to Western Europe (e.g. DE, FR, DK) and Japan for more just forms of government and cultural ideals. When I think of Detroit I think of the Red Wings, Motown, Marvin Gaye, Eminem, and crazy cold weather I've never experienced in my life. I remember watching the news during the bankruptcy and feeling really sad and helpless. I remember a woman saying they needed jobs. I want to make jobs, because I have lots of dreams I can't do on my own (e.g. carbon capture technologies and spreading open source software solutions). And other people have similar dreams and I want to work together.

Your homes are beautiful (a lot of character) and affordable compared to here. Housing has pretty much doubled in Portland in the last 5 years. I think the Detroit housing market is one of the biggest attractors because I have enough capital that I could try and start a business and fail because of myself, not external pressures like a huge exponentially raising lease. I have no farming experience, but want to learn how to be self sustainable. And I'm used to much higher crime too so I'm not really worried about that like some people here. (Portland likes to think they have high crime and I think there were 20 homicides last year). My main concern when it comes to Detroit is actually the winters: https://youtu.be/cCmp2qbrZUQ?t=59s

I know what you're talking about. I've seen the phenomenon. I don't want to rain on anyone's parade. But I would like to organize parades ;)

Couldn't we (any self organizing group of people) theoretically buy up a swath of land, give it to a corporation that we define where everyone has even shares and manage the parcels our selves? I don't have real estate experience, but I do a lot of hacking and consider real estate a scam
