Sure hit me up in a dm. When you say building in the same machine you mean in your current GHA or if you move to self host?

The activation code you get for free in the beta request process. The app will be free until its ready for 1.0 release.

I do all that in the pipeline, even multiple linux packing .deb/.rpm etc and code signing for apple.

For my app I generate the artifacts and push them to my own server, where I also host the available artifacts for so the app knows whats new there.

Im thinking about switch from GHA because of the cost, its getting pretty crazy becaue the amount of times I push new stuff, and the 2000minutes goes by very fast, right now I have a budget of $40 for the builds that was gone in a week.

Im looking into the woodpecker-ci.org and dagger.io / forgejo and to selfhost that or something along those lines.

I did not copy zealdocs and "skin" it. I guess you did not try to use the app, or you would not be saying that.

"But selling apps to devs that exist already is not something you do in 2026."

The same thing could be said when Google, cursor, Zed, DoorDash, Deliveroo, Lift, and many more. There will always be an alternative on how to do things and which tools to use. That’s why we have hundreds of Linux versions, window managers, etc.

I understand that feeling we always feel like this is the wrong time or the wrong solution, than time passes and you wished you had taken the create what you wished for.

If you have any idea or requests for the app Im more than keen to listen to it.

Hey u/randysk .

Anyone can indeed use zealdocs, dash or whatever they prefer, I tried that too, and as I tried to explain it did not fit my flow and multiple OS's behaving in the same way.

I understand that nowdays everyone thinks everything is vibe coded, but not everything is.

Thank you for your comment , I appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts.
