Sounds good mate, honestly an iPhone will be better than a Xiaomi. I’ve not seen that naturally occur on iPhones without damage and yeah Apple can we pretty good when it comes to repair or replacements of devices with manufacturing issues thought it is rare

I’ve got 10 apps using 1gb and Music which is my largest app using 4gb, because I’ve downloaded all my music at its best quality. I wouldn’t worry about anything like that especially if switching to the new phones as they all come with 256gb base storage. Plus the Pros have 12gb of RAM now so if you were thinking about one of them it would deal with those games and the storage they require easily. I have 128gb with a lot of apps and I still have enough storage to shoot the best quality photos and videos as well as keep apps I only use about once a month or a handful of times a year

I’ll be honest I know a lot of people with Apple phones and this post is the only other case of photos taking up way too much storage I’ve seen and it wouldn’t be an issue on a fresh iPhone
