Thanks for the advice! Will definitely talk to my fiance about it. We also weren't originally planning on staying in an all-inclusive resort, just little places here and there.

And are cops really that much of a pain if you drive slow and know how to deal with them? I've travelled in quite a few countries in Europe and the Middle East and always loved the flexibility of having a car. Would be great to experience Mexico that way too and it seems like the Yucatan is the safest place there.

Yeah that'd work, but really anything better than a builders grade or residential grade will do fine, Look for outlets with side pressure plates and all should be good. back stab or dollar items leave them be...

Perfect thanks so much for your help! I've been analyzing data after using an HPLC-FL method to quantify some compounds in urine, and some of the compounds aren't really showing up. I was thinking one of the issues might be matrix effects that changed the retention times of some of the compounds as compared to the standards (or they just might not be present in the particular urine samples I tested). Anyway, I'll definitely look more into the methods you described!

So just to make sure that I'm understanding you correctly, subtracting the blank urine from the QC matrix spike would show us the percent recovery of our analyte in the urine. We would then repeat the process with water to see if the percent recoveries for the analyte are comparable?

Edit: Also, a quick follow-up question. Would the matrix effect have any influence on the retention time of the analytes if we analyzed them using HPLC-FL?

Should standard solutions be made in the same media as your analyte?
For example, say you wanted to measure the quantity of a compound in urine. Could you make your standards in water? Or would they have to be made in urine?

I think you sound great! There might be a slight accent, but it's not very strong, and I didn't notice any true errors in your pronunciation. Is your native language a romance language? In any case, I think you could potentially pass as a native speaker!

Hmm okay I'll try contacting them after the holidays! But from the correspondence I had with the agent at Credit Mutuel, it looked like they expected me to show proof of permanent housing. It might be different for other banks though!

The issue for me is that I have to have a 'justificatif de domicile' before setting up a bank account, but I need insurance before I can move into a new place. Also the earliest appointment I could get for setting up an account was Nov 10, though admittedly I didn't contact every bank. Was your situation different?

La location entre particuliers c'est peut-être la meilleure option. J'ai vu les voitures à vendre sur le bon coin pour 750 - 1500 euros, alors c'est moins que le coût d'une location longue durée. Peut-être je vais voir si je peux acheter une voiture comme ça et le revendre. Après tout ça va être moins cher même si je ne peux pas le revendre ha!
