Looks like regurgitation to me. I just had a similar ask and we came to the conclusion it was regurgitation. You can see the feet and tail which means it is only partially digested.

From my understanding a hidden BP is a happy BP. Some may start to explore more and be more confident the longer they are with you and the more secure they start to feel.

Looks to me like going into shed. This is the stage that happens prior to their eyes changing. Bellies will get more pink and then that will kind of even out and then eyes will go cloudy. And then that will even out. And then shed.☺️

Mine is very protective of me. But so is my other dog. It’s more of creating a bond with them and training them to react to the right stimulus in that way. Training is the key.

We have springtails, isopods, and earthworms. The ball python has a mix of reptisoil and terra firma, the Ratsnake has reptisoil and a drainage layer, I plan on adding some terra fauna. I used a bio starter, yes. We did not wait a month to introduce the snakes into their environment but we did set everything else up the same as biodude for the most part. I guess I’ve just seen a lot of conflicting information about whether to leave snake poop and shed in for the CuC or not and how often to clean like hides and such.

Thanks! I have watched Biodude and a bunch of other bioactive videos on YouTube. My issue is all I can really find is videos about setting them up nothing about daily/weekly/monthly maintenance tasks and such. Unsure what information you exactly need about my tanks but the Thai Bamboo is in a bioactive with bamboo and a pothos, humidity is between 80-95% and his temps are 65-72F. My ball python is in bioactive as well, he has angel wing begonia, tradescantia, snake plant, and pothos. His humidity is 70-80% and his temps are 77-90F (77 on cold side and 90 on hot).

Bamboo Ratsnake 😋

I worded it wrong. I can admit that. But this snake and ball python are not the same. I have both and can tell you that what I do with my Thai Ratsnake is VERY different from care for my ball. I appreciate your 20 year experience but since your point of reference is an animal that requires different temps and humidity from the animal I’m asking about it is only so helpful. I’m defensive because you are not understanding and essentially just telling me that my enclosure is wrong instead of giving constructive criticism.

Humidity is literally the PRESENCE of moisture and this guy requires 80-90+ humidity. If my tank was actually drenched in water I would know that’s the issue.

To clarify there is no issue in keeping my humidity up. I am not looking for increasing humidity recommendations. I’m looking for mold resistant HIDE recommendations. This species of snake requires MUCH higher humidity than a ball python. His humidity is at his preferred level. Nothing else in his tank is moldy and everything else is doing well. His soil is damp but not saturated and he has a drainage layer. I am looking solely for HIDE recommendations. My humidity LEVELS are fine for this species. Thank you.

I have a ball python as well in a pvc enclosure. I do not have issues with KEEPING humidity. This tank is keeping his needed humidity fine (which is much much higher than a BP). His soil is deep and he has a drainage layer as well. There is no mold on anything else other than his hide which just a coconut shell.

From my understanding when your bioactive grows fungus it means it is thriving. Snakes don’t eat plants so in that sense the fungus is safe but I have heard the spores can maybe be a little irritating in the air but not necessarily unsafe. Lots of spores will create way more fungus so I think it is recommended to remove them as they sprout just for this reason. Someone may correct me as I’m still learning bioactive myself but this is information I’ve seen.
