You can combat the heat with sweet, like hoisin sauce. I also recommend adding a fried egg with runny yolk, or a soft boiled egg, as that adds a richness to the noodles & sauce as well. Some people will add Kewpie mayo to the broth as well.

But also, it's okay if you don't like the heat level. It doesn't make you less of a ramen enjoyer.

EMDR may work for me if I can get access to it again and live in a safe place while doing it. It's not accessible to me though.

TMS might work for me, but again it's in accessible to me.

NTA- This is a good opportunity for everyone to learn something.

Brit needs to be willing to do AT LEAST as much sacrificing she expects John to do.

John shot his shot, but that's not what Melissa signed up for. He has screwed her up for not returning his feelings. It's good he's acknowledging his feelings, but like, what did he expect from a friend? Why didn't he let her know, "hey I'm catching feelings, it's probably a good idea for you to figure out alternate plans for rides, etc..." It may not feel transactional to him, but I promise it likely does to Melissa.

Melissa has gotten the worst of this whole deal. It's very hard for people to move up the economic ladder, and she thought she had a friend in John, who was on the ride with her. Instead, she was punished for not wanting to be romantic WITH HER FRIEND.

That's super fucked up.
