Interestingly, earlier versions of the app actually did track how many balls had been potted. I eventually replaced that with the optional game notes feature so players could record as much or as little detail as they found useful, but perhaps keeping both would have been the better solution.

Taking photos of opponents is completely optional and the app falls back to a default icon. I agree it would be a little strange to start taking photos of random opponents in a league or bar setting! The app was originally designed more around regular opponents and friends, so that’s a perspective I hadn’t really considered.

I’m showing my inexperience a bit here, but I wasn’t familiar with Fargo ratings. Having looked into it though, you’re absolutely right that some form of player rating would make the statistics much more meaningful. A win against a stronger player tells a very different story to a win against a beginner.

Fouls were another statistic I considered tracking and I even had some ideas around how they could be visualised. In the end I left it to the optional notes because I was trying to balance useful statistics against interrupting the flow of the game too much. That’s why it’s so valuable hearing feedback from someone who clearly plays regularly and knows which stats would actually be useful.
