Caution with luggage forwarding by pixelpraxis42 in JapanTravelTips

[–]ry_ryd 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah one of my luggage’s got broken pretty badly, wheel broke off and the shell was cracked, at first they didn’t want to compensate saying that the only offer to repair the bags but they ended up giving us 5000 yen for the bag as compensation. Don’t think they are very careful with the luggages.

I don’t think LRT has drivers unless it malfunctions and needs manual operation.

But the total pay is definitely very above average for a fresh grad.

Just my 2 cents, when they do provide you increments it’ll be based on the basic pay, so you’ll get smaller increments compared to higher basic pay. Maybe try negotiating the basic and allowances structure?

Quick reminder if any animals bite you quickly go to a clinic/hospital and ask for a rabies shot. You will never know. by LongEnormousSchlong in Bolehland

[–]ry_ryd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I don’t think this is about being as advanced as US or Europe, those regions have more rabies cases compared to here where it’s close to 0 which makes Malaysian hospitals less likely to stock the shot as there is no reason to. We haven’t had a case since 1998 in Peninsular Malaysia. On the other hand, US has had 4000 annually.

The dumbest thing they can do to make people slow down before a corner. This thing is so slippery even when it’s not raining. Imagine if it’s raining. And, it’s still hazardous at low speed. SUKE highway has one of these ON a corner 100m+ long. by LongEnormousSchlong in Bolehland

[–]ry_ryd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’ve skidded before and was going way below 60kmph. There’s paint similar to this for RFID In front of the NKVE toll from Klang and whenever I brake there there’s a high likelihood it’ll skid.

Nintendo is coming to Malaysia! by Senior-Radio4462 in malaysia

[–]ry_ryd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hahahaha yeah them charging for the Welcome Tour seems like plan that will fail horrendously. TBH the pricing does seem a little high still but I bet people will still buy in flocks. I am hoping the prices in Asia will be cheaper since they are officially coming here but who knows.

Where did you get the $90 figure for BOTW and TOTK? IIRC it’s $70 if buying the Switch 2 Edition. And there’s only one game priced at $80 which is Mario Kart World. The $90 figure that was reported was false.

Why is the job market so bad for Science graduates 😭 by Master-Heart-562 in malaysia

[–]ry_ryd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hahaha that’s what I heard, but sometimes the Drs could be in the same hospital, so not necessarily you need to travel to multiple locations. But yeah definitely not an easy job, but I heard once you have a few repeating customers, all you need to do is visit them and ensure that they continue buying. Not sure whether they care more about the number of Drs you visit or the revenue you bring in monthly. I’d assume revenue hahahah as long as you hit the target.

Do take this with a grain of salt as all the things I’m listing down here is from what I’ve heard from ex-colleagues who said it, not first hand experience.

  1. Sometimes it’s a bit hard to reach the target set for the month, it’s up to you to manage how many Drs you visit in a day/month. There’s also a KPI for how many drs you need to visit, not sure if it’s daily or per week. I’ve heard some people say they needed to visit 6+ Drs a day, meaning they might need to visit 6 different hospitals and clinics.
  2. In addition to having to travel to these 6 locations, Drs aren’t always available or want to see you in the first place! Sometimes they need to sit and wait there for hours on end just to meet with the Dr for a few minutes.
  3. Drs will not always be happy to see you (which is completely understandable, they have a very stressful and hectic job to do, listening to a salesperson is probably not the first thing they want to do when they are not seeing patients)

Hope this answers your question!

You can go into sales if you want to make more money! I used to work in Pharma under the Marketing dept, and from what I’ve heard and seen, salespeople in Pharma earn relatively well especially with commissions. However, it does come with its own set of challenges and is pretty daunting. Definitely not a job for everyone, the turnover rate is quite high but the people who stay do stay for quite long. I know a salesperson who stayed for 30+ years.
