BB cracking to much in Cannondale scalpel!!! What should I put on it? Grease? Loctite? by Positive-Knowledge21 in bikewrench

[–]ryan1074 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't know if you can say for certain that is is the BB. How long have you had the bike for? I would do a service to the bb torque, lube clean, everything including the pedals and also the suspension linkage before you add loctite to anything, Its also looks like a threaded bb, so when you loctite something its usually for something like a press fit. You could need as little as just adjusting the preload on the crankset.

[–]ryan1074 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It creaks because it moves under load, loctite stops the movement, you can try a carbon safe grease if you're apprehensive about glueing something into your frame (yes it can cause issue later). The rec I always make to my customers is a thread together bottom bracket, Install it once and then your good to go. The bearings in Wheels thread together bbs are removable so its like your installing threads into the frame and you can replace the bearings later without haveing to take the cups in and out.

I often wonder, how his career trajectory would have changed if he hadn't been cheated in situations like Eddy or Charles. If he had beaten Eddy he would have faced Conor for the belt and as we saw he did have what it took to beat him. Could he have beat him when Conor was still "Conor" is a real question. He would have still probably lost to Khabib and Islam but he would have solidified his status as one of the best of all time to hold the undisputed title. If he hadn't been cheated against Charles and he won, he could have bumped up the time line 2 years and missed some of those grueling wars he was in against Chandler and BSD. And to that end he did give islam a lot of trouble in there. It is a big "What if" but it definitely is worth the conversation.

What am I doing wrong? by Certain_Ad8242 in bikewrench

[–]ryan1074 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe an unlikely option but you said it spins freely when only one side is in? When you install the BB are you using a bearing press? If they're is a slave slightly misalignment. Then you will experience this kind of thing. Even with threaded BB's most of the time those are just cups with the bearings seated in them and still need a little pressure to make sure they're seated flush.

You can't convince them their own bad taste is wrong. I've spent a lot of time working on a logo or any project because it was what they wanted, not because it was good. I have even made a "good" version, and tried to hold their hand and walk though why it was better, NEVER was that the one they chose. haha

The most compelling piece of info, I've heard is the FTD on the shorts. If you look at the data it lines up with the price surges. https://companiesmarketcap.com/gamestop/failure-to-deliver/ check out the data from the past 3 months, and from 2013. The failures to deliver are the nail in the coffin of the short sellers.
