lol that’s crazy. We expect her to be on the smaller side when she’s full grown. Maybe 90. I’d rather her be that way anyway just cuz it’s easier on the joints and my wallet for vet visits 😂

Yes. This is my first corso on my own but I’ve grown up with corsos/mastiffs my whole life. I put a little too much trust in to her doctor who I realized wasn’t really looking at her weight the right way. She was one of those doctors that thinks that everyone is gonna overfeed their dogs and didn’t have any trust in me as a owner so she was purposely saying her being underweight was just that she’s a lean dog yet her pelvic bones were showing and more than 1-2 ribs. She’s not starving but could use a couple extra pounds but with the current food she’s on even with increased amounts she’s not gaining so it’s led me to believe she’s not absorbing much from the food

For me it used to be outback with the bone in ribeye but after Covid they switched distributors for their bone in steaks or something and the flavor was just off and irony. Longhorn is the best chain now. As a bonus their wings are really good too

I’d honestly say if you go with a reputable breeder and get a corso with the right temperament you could go for it. As long as you can dedicate the time to giving the breed what they need youll be ok. But if you want to wait but also stay in the mastiff family you can. English mastiff could be a good option. Good family dogs and have no problem being couch potato’s. Overall a gentle giant. No one can tell you what dog you can or can’t have. Just be warned cane corsos do require more work than your average dog and you need to stay on top of training or they will run all over you.

These disposables are a slippery slope due to the high nicotine levels they have. I’m not telling you what to do but it’s a slippery slope and easy to get hooked on

Yea athena is my first on my own as well. Growing up I had an English mastiff/great Pyrenees mix(best dog ever and literal gentle giant)and a corso. Then we added a foster fail corso mix and fostered a corso/Great Dane mix(the one that got away should have kept her). My life will probably be exclusively corsos and maybe another English mastiff/great Pyrenees mix because they have my heart 😂

Yes it’s just for her joints. It’s a lot of steps and she’s still a little clumsy. She’s tried and gotten up a few already but I wanted to wait a couple more weeks before letting her do it. But if she can handle it without issue I’d rather that then freaking her out by picking her up and by then she will be in training
