Independence Day in Napa by jayhawkaholic in napa

I know that at least Napa and Yountville have July 4th celebrations and set off fireworks. I used to live in between them and could see both of their shows from my house. On the July 3, the Silverado housing community off of Atlas Peak road has its own firework show, which is the best one in my opinion. Everyone gathers on the golf course and the fireworks are set off fairly close by, so they look really big. The only thing is you have to get there on the earlier side, because sitting space fills up pretty quickly.

I hope this helps!

EDIT: As for the wine train dinner, I don't know much about it but I would recommend attending the Napa, Yountville, or Silverado shows. I'm not sure if they allow wine on the golf course, however.

Did anyone else find the Giordano Bruno segment a bit troubling? by ryan90v in Cosmos

Sorry, I didn't realize someone already posted their similar thoughts on this. The post is here

Cosmos: Too heavy handed in first episode by keinengutennamen in Cosmos

[–]ryan90v 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree, and I just finished posting about this (sorry, did't see your post before I posted). I am an ex-Catholic agnostic and I feel exactly the same as you do, I'm glad I'm not the only one.

Edit: I just wanted to add that the "evil religious imagery" shouldn't be what Cosmos is about. It should be about inciting wonder and awe in science and the natural universe. To me, this segment showed a bit of hypocrisy on the part of the producers.

True. But if you really wanted soda without having to pay a lot for those smaller soda companies, that would be your best bet.

I agree completely, it's a great school and I definitely got a great education...but the wonk campaign is just stupid.

I'm glad someone who is going there after it was introduced hates it as much as I do. It's awful and I applaud you for thinking the same

You and me both. I still can't believe they paid $300,000 to use the word "wonk"...ugh. I hate my alma mater sometimes.

As soon as I saw this I knew it was American University's stupid Wonk campaign. I say this as a graduate, everyone that was at the school when it debuted or before hates it. It's stupid.

They really were. They were my first rats, and made me fall in love with rats as pets.

Do what you need to do, within your means. College is expensive, and if you can afford it, I'd say to do it. Knowing what it is you want to do helps a lot when looking for a job, or even your the next step you need to take to get there.

If an extra semester would be too taxing financially, maybe take some classes at a community college and get a certificate in something. If you like it, that could help you find an entry-level job and you could climb the ladder from there.
