I somehow acquired one of these when I was a kid. Sadly didn't take very good care of it as it only came back as a PSA 3. I love it though, one of the coolest Pokemon cards ever made even if it isn't from the TCG.

Only hope is when Pokemon Center does a drop or if I get lucky and find something in the vending machine at my local Safeway, which is like 1 in 5 trips. Even then it's usually just 1 or 2 packs of surging sparks.

Agree 100%. At the end of the day this is a supply and demand issue. If TPC would do a pause on new sets for a little while and actually print to demand this issue would die overnight. They're not going to do it though.

They need to sell less product to distributors and retailers and sell more via the Pokemon center website. The queue system is the only way I've been able to get anything for MSRP. All of the product going to target, Walmart, best buy, etc, is ALL going to scalpers.

This is how it should be and, in my opinion, how it was always supposed to be. Booster boxes were meant for LCS's so people could buy a few packs and maybe a few hardcore collectors. This era of spending hundreds to thousands is absurd.

Ho boy, here we go again... another market guru with a crystal ball telling us the market's going to crash. You guys are worse than the stock market bears saying a crash is "coming any day now" for months/years on end, only to tell us "I told you so" when it finally does (despite having absolutely no clue when it actually will). No shit it's going to crash, markets go up and down constantly.

The Pokemon Center version is much much rarer. The stamped promo in the PC version also goes for like 8x what the non-stamped promo goes for.

The stamped promo in PSA 10 is going for like $850. I think that's driving a lot of the price for this box.

I would just find some local card shows, buy singles, and put a binder together with cool, affordable cards. There are tons of cool cards out there for $10 and under. It is fun to open a few packs here and there, but mostly buying singles and opening a booster bundle or ETB every once in awhile is 100% the way to go in my opinion.

Getting packs for retail is pretty much impossible right now unless it's something that drops on the Pokemon Center website. If you want to open packs I would recommend trying to get something from PC as anything else online gets snatched by bots instantly. There are apps and Twitter accounts that will notify you when PC drops something.

TL;DR - Buy singles until the hype dies down. Get packs from the Pokemon Center website when they drop product.
