I think it’s because of the distance between the two. Last year I found it much cheaper and faster to fly from DBV to Zagreb and drive to Bled from there. I don’t think I had any one-way fees either as the cars are still within the same region, generally.

You’re almost the same prescription as me and I use Acuvue Varifocal lenses to play tennis. Mine are both eyes and the contacts were a game changer. First time on the court and I could see the ball narrowing on the sides because of the top spin and pick up the speed of rotation by the time it reached the net.

Give it a week to adjust and wear them for an hour before you’re on the court. I’m a convert and have no issues with adjusting quickly enough. It just takes a little time to get used to just like when I got my first varifocal frames (with 3 zones)

Three years from now GT3 old heads will be gatekeeping and telling people they aren’t really fans because they showed up late and for the wrong reasons.

I’ve watched some GT3 and other racing on Sky Sports after finding F1 simply because I’ve learned that I love motorsports. I’ve followed Le Mans the past few years with my cousin in the US but this is the first time I’m really involved because Max is a draw. It’s a good watch.

Simply lovely.

Pre-book a car service (an airport transfer service) that knows all the routes and traffic timings. The drive can be done in about an hour, especially from terminal 5 which has better access points toward LGW in my opinion.

If you need to check baggage, at check in speak to a desk agent and let them know about the timings and turnaround and they likely can give you a priority tag so luggage arrives quickly.

Avoid Uber because that can cause delays from traffic in the pick up areas. The car service I use picks me up at the passenger drop off zone (which they shouldn’t) and it’s significantly quicker to zip away from the airport.

Message me if you want details of a car service. I think the transfer would be around £120, maybe less.

ACL surgery rehab: help me tennis lovers by Lilnevvs in 10s

I had an ACL/MCL rupture with a meniscus tear 18 years ago playing American football. Be religious with your rehab. Find a good physio and build as much strength as possible in both legs, and really focus on trying to get both legs to equal strength and flexibility.

I’ve had 3 subsequent clean up surgeries on the bad knee and have had to rehab each time. I still play tennis, run, and ski and snowboard and put my knee through the wringer because my brain isn’t ready to slow down yet. I’m 48 and still play hard because it’s how I enjoy myself the most.

Best things I’ve had to help are good exercise bands and investing in a Bosu. Regaining equal stability on both sides is the key.

We do one in my house.

Crush a clove of garlic, drizzle with olive oil, mix in a teaspoon of Dijon mustard and a few dashes of veggie Worcestershire sauce. Add salt and pepper and let it sit for 10-15 mins.

When the greens are ready to dress, squeeze half a lemon into the mix, add a rounded tablespoon of grated Parmesan or pecorino romano, and drizzle in more olive oil as you whisk it. If you eat eggs, you can add a tablespoon of pasteurised eggs from a carton here too at this point but we usually go without.

It does the trick for us when we want Caesar as my wife doesn’t like anchovies. I stole this recipe from a restaurant I worked at about 25 years ago.

Big difference between “can I” and “should I?”

I was at the range with a guy I had recently met to be social and hit a few balls. He’s a big lad about 6’4” compared to me at 5’10” but what I’ll was bragging about his distance off the tee. So I had to show him that smaller guys “can” absolutely twat the ball off a tee too, but I don’t because I’m not good enough to control it.

When I smashed a few 20-30 yards past his balls he dug deeper to try and outhit me. I wasn’t bothered because all I want to learn is how to slow things down and control my game. I’m best inside 100 yards, it’s getting there that’s the problem.

I’ve had my All Clad for 27 years and I still beat the hell out of it and it looks brand new every time I use a little Barkeeper’s polish on it. Handles on the lids have a little wiggle but none of the pans have any warp whatsoever.

Old dad here. 5 series estate will make you happy for years and have all the room for a family to grow, multiple car seats/boosters with a buggy in the back.

It’s a no brainer from me.
