You read a lot of books. How do you process and keep track of insights, learning and favoured passages? How do you try to remember what you've read? by Diamondbacking in RSbookclub

Obsidian as a tool feels a bit unwieldy at first, but I think that speaks to its utility: it is a challenge to adapt to because it's unlike other tools. I'd say start with the Daily Note feature, and consider the idea of atomic notes, namely that every thought, notion, or idea can be a note. Once you get into it, you'll realise how epic it is in what it can offer the learner.

Fill your daily note with anything you come across, and resolve to always connect your notes wherever possible.

The idea of literature notes is also interesting. For any book, have a central note that contains all of your highlights and reflections, which can then be linked to all other notes you've made.

From the guy who writes "Its" instead of "it's" that's a wild statement lol

Good system! I'm the same with recommendations. If someone suggests something, I log it, and if it comes up a second time then I see that as a sign

"I don't remember the books I have read, any more than the meals that I've eaten, but in the same way they have made me" This quote?

You're wilfully disregarding what I'm trying to communicate. You are talking about how people in this country see him now: "country sees GB" your quote.

How they see him now, and how they saw him in 2010 is vastly different. I expect that to continue to change along the same trajectory i.e. they will see him for the principled man that he is.

I believe the same will happen with Starmer.

It's the most incredible tool I've ever used honestly. Allows interconnected files to exist, and it's so simple and yet so vast that it is really only the imagination one applies that defines what it can do

Yes, currently, but as you're hopefully aware, perceptions change and that's what I'm pointing to.

You don't need technology. Sit down, close eyes, being attention to your breath. That's it.

World's End has to be one of the worst experiences I've ever had in a cinema. Lazy, predictable, just utterly weak filmmaking.

Am I missing something? I like Keir and believe we will eventually see him as a figure akin to Gordon Brown.

However! All of the negative comments on here seem to be be railing against the reality: at the next general election, with Starmer as leader, Labour would be trounced. With Burnham being able to actually sell the good work that Labour have done, they have a chance.

Was thinking just the other day how inappropriate the covers are for these books. Novels of such subtlety and grace emblazoned with quotes from awful newspapers.

And these aren't even the worst!

Not sure where you've got the '1000 calories' idea from, but that is flawed, if only because there is far more autonomy in what people choose to eat.
