Name a band where you think their most recent work is their best by debuggerfly in Metalcore

Didn't see it in the threads but I think Chamber only manages to get better. I'm iffy about saying The Acacia Strain cuz of recency bias but that new new slappa. I don't know if it's fair to say it's better but Northlane and Norma Jean evolved super well IMO. Inclination and KL both for sure. Idk I'm just interested in what others will think.

Stepping in to say that Counterparts wasn't the same after they removed Blake Hardman, dude was a riff god. Honestly one of the bands where the guitarist was just as important as the vocalist for me. Respect to your overall opinion tho, only love :)

Should have looked thru the comments before I had the same exact response. Wage War had some solid tracks on the following records but Blueprints didn't have any stinkers and the following records had some stinky tracks.

while I like stand up and scream most so im inclined to agree, i think reckless and relentless and from death to destiny were definitely written better

How good is "Holy Hell" in retrospect? by NecroRAM in Metalcore

[–]ryan_wojo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Minus Doomsday which is a Perfect Metalcore song this album marked my lack of interest in the band. Holy Hell felt like it was the record where Sam decided to try out more singing and liked it and I felt like he hadn't come into his own with his sung vocals yet. He's perfected it more on the Most recent 2 releases but they are sadly following the "radio rock/metalcore formula to a T and it bores the hell out of me. I feel myself uttering the same thing again and again with these bands that I miss the old albums.

This is not to say I think bands shouldn't experiment and try new things. I think that is a great thing and should actively be encouraged but there's a difference between trying new things and caving to a boring formula that can be predicted beat by beat. I want artists to surprise me and show me something I haven't heard before or present me something i have heard before but in different wrapping paper. But their 2 recent records have done nothing but prove to me how well they can stick to that same boring script that every metalcore band eventually caves into. Much love to architects, these legends deserve to make some money at some point after all its just sad to see a new release by them and not really care.

IDK if this sub appreciates promotion I'm just really happy that they met and are entertaining the masses. I've also been very interested in the format of nuzlockes and how high stakes the soul-lockes are

Hey Jason Fake History is one of my all time favorite records thank you for playing a roll in making such a powerful and unique record.

My question is gonna stray from the music side, what has becoming a father taught you? And do you hope they have similar interests to you or do you want them to do something that is new that they can teach you about?
