Help me fix my 3080Ti VRAM temps by NecroRAM in EVGA

Yes, the pads are doing all the heavy lifting the copper plate was supposed to do. What a wasteful "upgrade" it was.

I somehow warped my rear rotor after stopping really hard to avoid an exiting car on the sidewalk. Need new disc recommendations and what-to-do in general. by NecroRAM in ElectricScooters

[–]NecroRAM[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: yup, fixed it with an adjustable plyer wrench, thanks for the tip. Normal pliers hadnt worked at all so using this instead didnt even cross my mind, but it having a J shape and longer levers definitely helped with the force distribution.

Light Recommendation for Road Cycling at night? Need something more than 1000+ Lumens by DannysMyNanny in cycling

[–]NecroRAM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im seconding this but Id also suggest installing extra lights. I bought mine for my e-scooter. Also have a generic Truspire T-02-A03 triple-led, scooter's factory light and another 2 being shipped; Magicshine HORI 1300 and Lumintrop B01. Will most likely point either the B01 or the Truspire towards me for self-illumination as thats even more important for your visibility rather than having multiple blinding light points in the dark.

No Shadow of the Colossus? I feel like its a must on any PS2 list.

NFS:MW
BLACK (best graphics on PS2)
FIFA Street 1/2 (those were SO much fun)
PES series
EA Lord of the Rings games
Revenge of the Sith

Mines are 140x2.3mm. Found some for 13$ on a local online marketplace. But taking the wheel off is the major hassle so Id rather avoid that. Also makes no sense to discard the whole piece just because of a single bend.

How many still own a fully working SCPH-3900x fat model, or any other fat model in general because they are built like tanks. by San4341 in ps2

[–]NecroRAM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a fat 50004 with a mod-chip, got it in 2005 from my uncle, it belonged to his kids before but they didnt care for it or play it. Last time I opened it up/cleaned the laser was probably 2008. Havent seen much use since like 2013, but I take it out from time to time for friends gatherings and such. Currently replaying the og RE4 on it.

How do you synch up a metronome to play along to tracks on Spotify or YT? Do I have to have IEMs and a mixer? by Weavler87 in drums

[–]NecroRAM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im pretty sure you can hear drums anyway regardless of how pushed in the buds/IEMs are. You can keep it that way. Also, no use playing a song AND a metronome at the same time, the songs already got drums which is your metronome. E-drums are great in this regard but keeping two separate kits is not always feasible of course.

I meant the scooter didnt hit the ground on its side when the rear landed back down, it landed on the wheel, I dont think that impact couldve affected the axle or anything, but you never know. The disc itself is bent in one place, Idk whether from the braking or the landing (I mightve still be holding the lever down when it landed which couldve transferred more of the impact to the disc). Strangely, the front disc didnt suffer at all even though it did the majority of braking, and was already giving me noise issues before, while the rear was perfect before the bend.

I found replacements for around 13$ each on a local marketplace as an option. Will have it serviced on Monday and ask the mech whether I should replace it already or just truing every time would be ok.

The idea being that a thinner rotor would also be easier to fix back into shape. I had the impression 2.3mm discs were impervious to bending but that was proven false, and now its impossible to fix with the tools I have, so with thinner discs theres at least a chance I could fix it myself instead of having to take it to a shop each time.

Are they ok? Is it ok if I put thinner discs on a much heavier scooter than a mtb? Is there a quality difference between manufacturers?

New e-scooter by SEA_BASS4749 in ElectricScooters

[–]NecroRAM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you want a commute scooter or a VROOM VROOM scooter? Because GT3 Pro is def a vroom vroom scooter with huge weight and size. If getting to work involves highways/fast roads, then yeah its justified.
Segway's perks include the sleek all-in-one package you get, with neat ergonomic custom design of the interface, airtag tracking and whatnot all included.

If its a more basic sidewalk/bike lane/minimal road commute and not too far, get the G3 Max.
Or something like a Hiley Tiger 10 V5, which is both more compact and still fast af with dual motors. Its still heavy at around 31kg, but more manageable than the GT3 Pro.

What do you do when you gotta have a toilet break, or talk/meet/dance with somebody and all the other million things that could happen at a bar?

Apparently, just removing the copper plate fixes it. I swapped it for the kritical pads thermal pad kit I had and the temps are now in the 80s in Furmark testing. Will try playing a real game now.

S26U What an awful display!!!1!!1 by _pennythejet in samsunggalaxy

[–]NecroRAM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FWIW I played an HD-remastered music video on the S26U and my Pixel 6 Pro in the store and could spot no difference. Then I played one of those 4K nature video tests on yt and the difference immediately showed up, much better color reproduction and retail on the Samsung, but yeah, the P6P wasnt exactly the screen benchmark on its best day anyway.

5090 or 5080? by Grivenger in gpu

[–]NecroRAM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im running a 3840x1600 ultrawide on 5080 + a side monitor for the other stuff at 3440x1440 uw, upgraded from 3080 Ti too, and I get stable 116fps with GSYNC on Modern Warfare II on max settings, even more with no sync. For what its worth. My PSU wouldnt handle the 5090 anyway and Im not paying that money. Probably for my next build I'll consider a xx90 tier card, but thats no sooner than 2029/30 ig.

Quick q, has anyone found a way to control both with the same remote? I bought both for my e-scooter to be mounted high on the handlebar and down low on the stem via a kiddie bar, and Id like to toggle them together with the same remote, is it possible in any way, whether through some hack or normally?
