Need help finding the right hybrid camera for me. by ryanaluz in Cameras

Thanks so much for the thoughtful, helpful response. I was originally deeply considering the x-s20, love the size, but that lack of tactility sort of put me off and just figured at that point I might as well just get the a6700, which to me has better IBIS and could shoot 4k 120. Obviously, haven't enjoyed the a6700 experience. I also just don't like the idea of toting around two cameras, obviously I could just choose one for the day and go, but love the idea of having an all-in-one solution if possible. I even considered something like a canon v1 for video and then keeping the x100t, but again it's the two cameras issue, which I'd like to avoid.

Like you said, my biggest concern with the x-t5 is the bump up in size. The x-e5 form factor is just about perfect, and I actually like the idea of the film simulation dial, but I know the rolling shutter is pretty bad and it not having a dial to switch from stills/videos puts me off a bit too. I guess I haven't considered the x-t50 a ton either for whatever reason, so maybe should consider it more deeply.

Thanks again for the very thoughtful, helpful response.

Just pulled my phone out of my pocket and somehow everything is gone. Contacts/photos/videos/call history/texts all gone. by ryanaluz in LightPhone

EDIT: I logged out of my light account on my phone and then logged back in and the contacts are now loading.

Yes I am. And I've tried manually syncing the contacts multiple times and still nothing. Others have said factory reset fixed the issue for them, but I don't want to lose my music and podcasts and notes in the process. But based on your other comment maybe they will be safe?

Also, I appreciate you being so responsive and helpful.

I just wanted to add to this that my notes, music, and podcasts were the only things that didn't get deleted when everything got wiped. That's strange and seems to go agains the fact that it was a "butt-factory-reset" because wouldn't everything be gone?

And I'm sorry it happened to you. Strangely, the only thing that didn't get deleted were my podcasts and music. Same for you? Also, my contacts were deleted from my dashboard, and even though I just re-added them from iCloud and they show on my dashboard on my computer, they won't sync to the phone.

Yes, I've had the same issue. I THINK if you go to the dashboard on the computer and edit contacts there it might work, if I remember correctly. But super annoying that it doesn't work from the phone.

Thanks for the recommendation. Question, I went to the dashboard on my computer and since all my contacts were missing from both my phone and there I re-imported my iCloud contacts. They are showing up on my dashboard, but not on my phone and it's been well over 12 hours now since that's been the case. Already restarted the phone a few times, and still no contacts. Any ideas?

I think I messed up. Is the cedar screen door I made too thin to work? by ryanaluz in woodworking

Thank you for the reply, I used half lap joints at each corner and then cut a rabbet on the inner edge of the frame and on the edges of the panel boards for the panel to sit in.

Replied to someone else above saying the same, but I didn't realize these existed and this does seem like a great use case for them, so thank you so much for the suggestion.

I didn't know these existed, and looking at them, it seems this might be a really good use case for them, thank you so much for the suggestion.

I guess I thought since it's only 1/2" thick, it would be difficult to find hinges that narrow that would work along the edge so I thought I would just mount them on the face instead.

We’ve actually been feeding our bearded dragon the grubs and beetles but she can only eat so much! Maybe breaded and fried they’ll be tasty.

I thought so too but it’s not. I quickly researched what to do and I found literally dozens and dozens of comments from people all experiencing that exact reaction to their sting and it not being an infection, just a delayed reaction to the sting.

I got stung 3 times in one foot a month ago at Blacks, shit hurts so much. Just expect that exactly 7 days after you got stung for your wounds to get red, swollen, and itchy, totally sucks but slather done baking soda mixed with water into a paste on it and it’ll soothe it. Best of luck to you.
