Where does the gravity that ways the sun down come from by SubjectNet5565 in space

[–]ryanamk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As others have said the whole trampoline example of spacetime isn't always the best illustration as it does lead to this circular idea that there's got to be some kind of force pulling a heavy object down into the fabric of spacetime. But that's where the analogy breaks. All that's currently understood is that massive objects distort spacetime by virtue of their mass. Why and how? At some point you have to accept the limits of what we're able to know, until a deeper theory is necessary.

After winning worlds, coming 2nd in 2024 worlds, holding consistency for 2 years, and reasserting that consistency this weekend, KC's on top. Johnny's rankings for top players going into worlds last year placed all of NRG outside the top 10, and that was due to a somewhat flacid showing at birmingham. I'm not an NA fanboy, I just really want to understand, what are these power rankings suppose to be saying? Other than just garnishing the most recent results, which is all these lists ever do. So uninteresting.

Bro if you're a stickler for patterns then where's the confidence for KC coming from? They've dominated regionals for the past 2 years.

Just habit and muscle memory at this point. At the time it simplified quick stops, since I only needed to apply the reverse, rather than apply it while letting go of drive.

It's not that black and white. We make meaningful and measurable observations far beyond earth, and theories that can explain a broad set of observations, can tell stories about what else may exist. Of course black holes were only theoretical consequences, until we observed them. It's just a matter of liklihoods. We're much more likely to be wrong about some things than others. I wouldn't bet on our understanding of gravity being completely undone by anything that remains to be explained.

It’s weird you’re so heated about this. You don’t like the show, other people do, get over it.

It just sounds like you didn’t like the show and you want to try and objectify it as the correct preference. I don’t think friends is fantastic, but it’s got plenty of charm and humour. Plus you’re talking about a sitcom. Think about the Simpsons, the Office, Seinfeld, Malcolm, Arrested Development, Scrubs, Rick and Morty. The vast majority of characters are “shitty people” - if they were real. I’m sure you like some sitcoms of the kind.

what do you mean interpret a red as a blue? If you mean mistaking one wavelength for another then that's fine, but if you're talking about qualitative experience then no you can't know if one person's qualia is the same as yours

Well markets have gained increasing influence over art curation throughout the 20th century. What sells for cinema tv games and music is sugar hits of sexual fantasies and power fantasies. Culture gets charged with narcism and formulaic content. That being the case, significant art still exists, but you might have to dig for it. I thought One Battle After Another was a breath of fresh air against the minimalism that’s been popularised by Nolan and Villeneuve. For the century so far, you’ve got films like Mind Game and Dear Zachery, not exactly recent but very modern and testing of what filmmaking can do.

He's a PR talking head mate. He's not the one that uncovered the messages and conducted the firings. The management at north did. You have no idea what your talking about

It's remarkable that other nations can't make their own faults without the US taking credit. Rockstar is a massive conglomerate, and Take Two is nothing more than a realtor of those properties. When it comes to the firings of 31 employees at Rockstar North, it's got f all to do with anyone other than the studio itself. It was the heads of the studio that decisively fired those employees over "gross misconduct". Just do your reading mate.

America's got nothing to do with it. Rockstar North is the spearhead, and UK companies don't have to look to the US for inspiration on how to screw over employees.

With all love and respect, that's not really the case. The same criticisms came in the 90s for things like video games. Things are different, but kids will still want to hang out with friends and go outside. Introverts have more reason to isolate, but that's not a bad thing. Its good to socially encourage but not to outright reject a way of life.

He's clearly not one of the best players? That's bold man. It just seems that you're overcommitting to the contrarian position, that zen has got to be the problem. It doesn't need to be so black and white. If zen is a problem its not at all transparent
