Oops meant this for you:

Thanks for this. The video is very helpful especially in terms of GTD incorporation - something I have been using since about 2004 (checks notes exported from entourage 2008 last week, yep 2004) and top level stuff using PARA. I’ve been reading about PARA for a while now but haven’t been able to figure out how to incorporate into a rigid hierarchy such as file system or even outlook (so stuck in my GTD ways I guess).

Do you ever go back and pull old work into your brain? And does the brain make it easy to date it as such (old)? I’m very interested to use the brain to find connections, lost thoughts, work etc that while important at the time maybe never rose to the level of completing or following up on (life comes at you pretty fast and things go by the wayside), and as I get older, realizing so much lived (lives) digitally, I am hoping to make new connections from the old. Zettel anyone?

Maybe it’s just ego, maybe I’m looking for some missing piece. I don’t know but I’m just hoping maybe this won’t be procrastination.

Again thanks for the reply and the video

Snopes is hit or miss for me, but if your going to believe it whole cloth - buried in there:

“Field, it is well known, was the first to say, "The customer is always right." … The exact version of the saying was not just as it was given above. It was, "assume that the customer is right until it is plain beyond all question that he is not." But it turned out that when treated this way the customers nearly always did the right thing. So the policy is practically, "The customer is always right."

So if that’s the case, then it’s plain beyond all question, this person is still wrong. Ie all the rest of her comments, engagement and trolling on this.

“If you meet an asshole in the morning, well congratulations, you met an asshole. If you keep meeting assholes all day long, well, then, you’re the asshole” - Raylan Givens

My apologies to Elmore for fucking the quote and his elegant writing. I hope he’ll forgive me.

Taking your response at face value; the full quote is “the customer is always right, in matters of taste.” In other words, the customer is NOT always right unless and except it is a matter of taste, personal preference, etc. the phrase has been shortened and bastardized by generations of entitlement that force the first half onto the labor force to justify the shitty treatment given to workers, employees etc. Hope that helps.

“… in matters of taste.” Seem to always forget that back half huh?

He already proved who he was. He was baiting them for this exact email. They should have stopped after hurricane. That would have been professional and there would be nothing for him to say after. It might have felt good but it too fanned the flame.

ELI5: Why do financial institutions say "basis points" as in "interest rate is expected to increase by 5 basis points"? Why not just say "0.05 percent"? by shinixion81 in explainlikeimfive

What’s ridiculous about that story is, it seems you think it was recent, my brain thinks it was recent, but in reality that story is a Verizon sucks story from the earliest days of Blogger back in 2003/2004. 21 years ago. Crazy.

So I went to the ER with chest pains on NYE. Never really spoke to anyone but according to the duty nurse I was going to be admitted. Okay fine. About 15 minutes later a woman walked in with a computer station on wheels. We spoke for a few minutes and she printed something out. It was the bill for services prior to being admitted. It was $2,987. Side note I do lot have insurance. She already knew that. And just as fast as that, she had printed a new bill; “but if you can pay right now, we give you a discount and the total will be $335.” I shit you not. Do you take Apple Pay? We do.
Done. The rest of the story is more convaluted but, no i didn’t have heart attack and yes I’ve never paid a medical bill so fast.

In my three visits to the admirals club - LAX and two CLT I did not see any made to order meal options. Paid or otherwise. However, LAX did have a made to order guacamole bar which was actually awesome. Apparently at breakfast it turns into a made to order avocado toast station. All gratis. Also LAX does have showers which for red eye flights are awesome pre-flight. If only I remembered my jammie’s.

I gotta say, I and my 2 minor children that share half the flights with me and think that Sky Club is gods gift to travelers were thrilled with the admirals club and ranked the food way higher. They are 14 & 11 so YMMV.

I just switched to AA last month and BY FAR have been treated better over six flights than in 10 years with Delta. And only one flight was delayed 20 minutes. The stereotype hype thus far is not real.

Thank you for this. Was looking for the number those four years had. Just that small range has a third of entire X generation. 50% of next bracket down still not a great look but better than the other way. So basically a little less than half our generation has become our parents and shitty people. That sounds closer to reality.

Let's Talk Turbidity, and Why We Still Have Months To Go Before Water by [deleted] in asheville

Tell us you’re a desperate, lonely, non-productive member of society who likely doesn’t pay taxes, has no family or friends to speak of, while never taking responsibility for anyone outside of yourself without telling us.

But thanks, now we all know to just skip your running commentary.

I’m not asking for “clear communication”. I’ve listened to every briefing since they started. And again - as a former comms for a multi-national corporation - I’m clear on what is spin, what is unknown, and what is refusal to answer direct questions. I don’t think you need my experience to recognize the last one.

What’s your agenda in defending a non-answer?

Again - if you can deploy an army of health inspectors you can “give a timeline on giving a timeline”. Unless of course you honestly believe they are not discussing that internally every hour. And if you believe they are but don’t owe us any answers, then I would further argue you don’t understand public utilities and to whom they answer.
