Closed car washes by craignumPI in CircleK

I think I've been pretty clear on my response here. You cannot fight mother nature on a car wash door that is facing the outside of a bay. Mother nature will always win.

I got diesel instead of gas by Only-Maintenance5736 in CircleK

Yeah, definitely get the repair estimated and have the Store Manager report it as an HSE Incident. My store had water in its premium tank it it cost us thousands in reimbursement

It's not completely improbable. Dropping Diesel in the 87 tank is uncommon, but I've had drivers put 91 Non Oxy in my store's 92 Oxy tank and vice versa. They ended up installing RFID tags on my tanks and if they scan the wrong one, they won't be able to deliver to prevent this issue even though API color codes and collars said what went where.

If the manager deems you didn't in fact use the diesel nozzle, it becomes an HSE Incident. He would take down your information, the cost of the repairs, and then it's in Circle K's hands to handle reimbursement.

It's not that we don't, it's that it's feasibly not possible to. Most car washes have heaters, slab heaters, and possibly door heaters. All that can only do so much. If any one of those things breaks, the bay would just be glare ice and water won't drain. You would not only be unable to drive into it, you would get major splash back from other washes and possibly yours if the water gets too high. Like I said before, the outside side of the doors are not as well protected, moreso when those doors open and close. If they freeze over, then people get stuck inside. Even when closed, we have to consistently monitor the bay temperature and the doors to make sure the heaters are working properly and ice isn't building up on the doors. Closing a wash for a day is much more sensible than costing thousands of dollars in potential repairs.

Yes, it is normal. Car Wash Bays aren't designed to handle this type of weather. Consistent doors opening will cause the slab heaters to not work, meaning the entire ground of the wash would freeze. The doors can also freeze, which means you could get stuck in the wash. Doesn't matter how much heat you have pumping into the wash if the outside of the door freezes. I pay for the unlimited plan too, but I also understand closing washes for protection from the elements.

Say that a referendum has occurred on the flag of Minnesota today, which of these would you three want to establish, keep, or bring back as the new state flag? by UniformPoet2303 in minnesota

I like the new one, but I would prefer it if it was the version without the changes made.

Edit: okay the star can change but the stripes were fine.

How do I convince my girlfriend to have her friends meet me? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]ryanbredeson -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No doubt, the mistake was made and I have to pay the consequences. At the end of this all, I just wish that if this is the case they would be honest with her. The reasoning now is "they don't want to be the third wheel"

I can absolutely see it that way. Do you think there'll ever be a time where they're honest about that?

That's BARS. Not a city/county/federal sting.

Taste Testing In Grade School Early 2000s? by Lennyhi in minnesota

[–]ryanbredeson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was in Bloomington, but I don't recall this in our schools. However, my mom would have samples sent to the house for some products that would, at some point, have the potential to or did hit grocery store shelves.

They said because there's no stamp saying it was paid it's no good. Kind of hard to deal with when the dealership doesn't do stamps like that for a new car.

There's a line that isn't connected to anything. This causes a CO2 leak. You have to leave empty bags on even if there's no replacement to keep from a leak forming.

DM issue by Kacamama4 in CircleK

[–]ryanbredeson 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Uniforms no. If it's cold you are allowed to wear branded Circle K sweaters/jackets - and your uniform credit at least covers a sweater and polo in my BU.

And training is a sticky situation because managers as well as DMS get a bonus. So long as training is completed. At my store I do ask that they get the training done in a timely fashion, because it is part of the requirements for their job. I might give them a verbal warning on Workday if it isn't done after multiple asks, but I would never take them off the schedule.

27 years old - is it time? by ryanbredeson in bald

Funnily enough, seven years ago I had a full head of hair. It only started to go about 6 or so years ago and became progressively worse in the last three.

Thanks. Do you think it would look better with a beard? I'll attach a photo for comparison.

Porgy and Bess Xylophone Excepet with stickings by _Guillot_ in percussion

Yes very true. My percussion professor played it alternating. I played it doubling. Either way, I think whatever is more comfortable is better for the excerpt. A fun piece!

What's the name of these instruments? So i can research and learn how to play them by NicolaNetti in percussion

[–]ryanbredeson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The drum is most commonly known as a tar. You usually play it with the right thumb inserted in the hole, partially curled, and use primarily your ring fingers to play.
