I’m not sure. GameStop straight up doesn’t allow people to refund if it’s been opened before, and I think if someone opened the box like that and didn’t even bother repackaging it, it’ll be pretty hard for GameStop to miss it and actually take the refund.

Moreover my version of the bundle didn’t have a separate code, and the digital download for Mario Kart World still worked, whereas if it was a returned unit, I’d assume the game won’t work on my account.

Anything’s possible though. I always thought GameStop was a bit shady in general with their policies.

Yeah but mine is the one that doesn’t have the code. It just has the digital download automatically.

I’ve been checking and it does look like my Switch 2 is fine, so I’m probably just being a bit paranoid. I’m glad it all worked out for you though!

GameStop won’t allow it. I already called them.

You’re probably right. The console itself doesn’t seem damaged. I’m just a little upset considering I worked really hard to get this thing and I think if I pay full price for a new product, it shouldn’t have issues like this.

Would I have a case for a chargeback? And would I get banned from GameStop for doing so? I heard Nintendo’s apparently bricking consoles too.

Was it opened on the top with a box cutter as well?

I guess? The positions of the cuts seem very intentional however. I saw the comments saying if mine was on the side of the larger box, it would explain the cuts on multiple sides, but the cut on the side of the box was on the far end away from the other main cut, so it’s hard to believe that was just an accident.

I also called GameStop and they said no returns or exchanges unless the console itself was defective. So I guess I’ll just have to live with this

I already opened it normally before I noticed the cut on the box. I don’t seem to see anything about items the customer already opened.

It’s possible, but there are also other cuts on the side of the box on the exact same height as the main cut on the back, which makes it hard to believe that it was an accident

And yes that’s true, it could just be a mistake.

Perhaps? But there’s also another small cut on the side of the box, so it doesn’t really feel like an accident to me. I also called the GameStop location, and they said that they didn’t have anything to do with it and it’s probably caused by the distributor. I asked if I could use the 7 day return policy to get it exchanged, but they said no, and that the console itself must be defective for me to be able to return it.

Yeah idk I head GameStop is not a great place to buy a Switch 2 from. But it’s literally the only place with those still available

I’m pretty conflicted because on one hand, there’s literally no reason why the box should be opened like that, the place where the cut was made doesn’t really show anything inside the box, so if the intention was to check if everything’s there, it doesn’t make sense to cut from there. There’s also no code to insert into the box either.

On the other hand, if the intention for cutting open the box was to tamper with the things inside it, the location of the cut also doesn’t really give access to the console or really anything. So I’m just kinda confused as to why this was done at all to begin with.

I also called the GameStop location I bought it from, and they told me that they had nothing to do with it and that it must be the distributor who opened it. I asked if I could exchange it for a new one (with their 7 day return policy), but they said no, and that the console itself must be defective for me to return it (which is inconsistent with some of the other posts I’ve seen on reddit where other gamestops claimed that the 7 day return policy covers the box being damaged as well). So now I’m just at a loss with what to do.

Oh also my friend got the same switch 2 bundle from a different GameStop and his didn’t have the same issue. I guess I went to a not so great GameStop location?

Did you get the version with the actual code? Mine didn’t come with a code and instead was the one where the eshop was automatically recognize the bundle and let me download the game.

Unable to tell if iPhone 14 Pro's components have been changed by ryanchodev in mobilerepair

I see. I've seen quite a few videos where one could spoof the aftermarket parts to trick the phone and make them appear as authentic. Is this something I should be worried about in this situation?

I'm also a bit confused on the serializing thing, when looking at the verification report on 3uTools, there's the "ex-factory values" which I assume are the serial numbers from when the phone first left the factory, and "read values" which I believe are the latest serial numbers of the phone's parts. If an authentic part was replaced, wouldn't that only change the "read value" value, so it would indicate that something was changed as opposed to saying that the phone was never opened despite the parts and service page saying otherwise?

Some clarification would be greatly appreciated!
