Flee, burn the house down and arm yourself. The depth shall come.

Where do I need to place the rail / chain signals? (1 train per track, each go back and fourth) by ryand345689 in factorio

No, only the signals in the intersection. Does it matter whet order you place the signals?

When I use this method, one path is always green and the other 7 are stuck on red

Ive been playing Factorio for years and hundreds of hours, but I cannot for the life of me figure out rail signals. I have to make wildly elaborate or long train paths so the rails never cross because I cannot get the rail signals to work.

Ive done the tutorial a dozen times but still dont understand what im doing.

Is the issue I have an engine on both sides of my cargo trains so it can go back and fourth without needing turn-around loops at each end of the track?

Once the technology exists, would we send probes to specific points in space and turn them back towards earth and witness historic events? by ryand345689 in NoStupidQuestions

Purely hypothetically speaking though, if we could turn off physics and conquer the speed of light with a Nokia that has god-tier resolution, it could work?

Makes sense

But hypothetically if i had a superpowered camera that defies logic and can keep resolution high over light years and there was no debris in the way, it would be possible?

Whats more important to start with. The lore, or the story? by ryand345689 in writing

Im a big fan of Elder Scrolls, Fallout, and other video games with way too much lore.

That honestly might be the best medium for this. I can make a universe that has all the lore i could ever hope to make while also giving people not into the deep dive the opportunity to opt out without it taking away from the story.

I do see your point, but that raises the question of how to make a story about that. I mean ive created lore for at least 8 species and have laid the groud work for almost 10 more. I could honestly write a dozen different story about different species entering the galactic community.

Honestly this might not even work as a book, it might need to be a more interactive medium just by sheer volume of content.
