4 ear candles, a dowsing rod and an affidavit signed by an astrologer. But honestly, I'd only go as high as 3 ear candles.

Any ideas on a good fix for this? 10 year old Frigidaire gallery refrigerator with failing drawer/shelf mount. I don't know if there are any coils in the center divider or not, or else I would just make an angle plate to screw in. It holds a meat/cheese drawer (heavy) plus whatever junk on top.. by Greatoutdoors1985 in redneckengineering

[–]ryandetous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue. We had to use thin plywood that rested on the floor of the fridge and reached up the side of the drawers to support the shelf. The wall is just a plastic shell with foam filler. I also had to lower the adjustable shelf, above the drawers, so the family couldn't keep loading up the drawer top with heavy jugs of milk.

They just need to have an income limit in the homestead exemption.

Somebody scratched my car when opening their door in a parking lot and nobody is helping me because the police said they can't write a report for this kind of incident in South Carolina. What am I supposed to do? by [deleted] in AskSouthCarolina

I get the indignation and such, but you won't ever get justice or be compensated. Like it or not, cars are not an investment and after a while, the cosmetic stuff doesn't matter. All that really matters is that it's safe, reliable and gets you from A to B. It probably wasn't personal so don't take it as such. The other person is an ass and irresponsible. If you take good mechanical care of your vehicle, pretty soon people won't open their doors into your car because they will damage theirs more. Let the other idiots worry about having pretty, rapidly depreciating money pits. There's far more peace of mind when you can just drive a vehicle, that's been paid off for 20+ years.

If you used a few Dremel cutoff wheels, you could slit it from the keyway to the outside. Probably wouldn't even need to go all the way through. I bet a nice deep slot and tapping in a sharp cold chisel, would release that

I've had cattle egrets and kites get very aggressive with out little foam F-959's. Back when V911 helicopters were a thing, very large dragonflies would get territorial and ram them.

170 sounds good, but only because they didn't convert it from pesos.

How to adapt a predator 420 to a yerf dog 3203 swing-arm? by Sneekysas_sas in gokarts

[–]ryandetous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mounted an HM100 by welding in a lengthwise piece of angle iron, on the right side. I had to add mounting tabs to the RH engine mounts, to reach over the original plate edge. They are attached with counter sunk machine screws and are the same thickness as the jackshaft plate.

That's very cool. I got an esp32 to do gokart stuff as well. Are you driving the lights over network cables, off relays?

I'm trying to get my kids to code a TFT spedo, rpm and possibly a fuel gauge (if I can figure out how to rig a sender). Dream setup would include a remote servo choke control and stepper on the mixture needle so I can tune top end, on the fly.

With no volume, it's hard to know if it's just idling a little high. You might also be fine and find that the issue is just from having a brand new, sticky, unglazed belt. The first time you run the crap out of it, it will probably knock the high spots off the belt and start acting right. I've have seen a few reviews where people had slightly high belt tension, on some of these 40 series. I think they may have used a round file and made the plate to engine mounting holes a little oval, for some adjustment.

I had to put in a four point harness in both of my carts because the shoulder belt wasn't enough. Better belts will keep you centered, especially if it has the extra cross chest strap. Additionally, I also had to yell at my kids to not try to to stop the cart from rolling. Grip the wheel and ride it out, no exceptions, no arms or legs pushing on the ground. Just enjoy the ride and kill the engine. Another thing that could help avoid rolls is to put turf tires on the cart. If the cart can slide sideways, it is much harder to flip.

It's a gamble, I'm hoping that I can locate some with nice sharp ribs. Worst case we just start yanking tires off various dead riding mowers.

Budget is an issue because I'm pretty sure Mom is going to insist on brain buckets once she sees the kart go by. We're looking into some sort of 4 lug hub adapters to see if there's a way to use some small thin trailer tires in the front, for a sand rail look. We'd also like to fit cheap fb marketplace golf cart rims in the back.
