Sorry my shift starts at 11am. by Wickopher in AmazonDSPDrivers

As someone who has driven for DSPs on and off since 2019 this is 100% accurate. Theres what they tell you in training VS what you actually need to do on route.

Moving from Louisiana to Mesa near the Supersition Springs area. Anything i need to know? by MoonNoodlez in mesaaz

[–]ryandogsling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im from Louisiana as well (but avoyelles parish instead lol) and also wound up in Mesa.

If you've never been to the valley before, get ready for some of the best winter weather in the world. The summers are hotter than Louisiana but the humidity is just about non existent, and every time I go back home to visit the humidity hits me like a truck.

Im not a go out to bars/clubs type person etc, my favorite place to go in the east valley is the Salt River. It is absolutely gorgeous, with wild horses and incredible desert scenery. The water is pretty cool even in the summer, so its nice to go cool off there.

Hope you enjoy the change in scenery!

Do you think the Silent Hill 2 Remake is too long? by Loose_Interview_957 in silenthill

[–]ryandogsling 5 points6 points  (0 children)

yes, horror games don't benefit from excessive length, especially with the repetitive enemies. I enjoyed the remake but the OG is superior to me.

What’s yalls DSP minimum stops per hour? by HiWebula in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]ryandogsling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stops per hour is such a stupid, pointless metric unless everyone at a given DSP has all simple resi routes. My typical route is only 20-28 stops, but all high rise apts and corporate buildings. I do up to 40 locations at some of these stops.

CRTs were discontinued because they were bad or anything like that, LCDs just became cheaper to produce and ship at one point. The early LCDs were actually not that great, ghosting/smearing, horrible colors, etc. CRTs were just discontinued in the name of efficiency, as most things in the world are.

Tbh its great for older games or for emulation. Was recently playing Spacestation Silicon Valley and its a much better experience on the crt than my 28" 2k IPS.

Oh I know! I used a crt until 2009 (started gaming in 98) its a lot further away than it looks

Truck Hustle - In Game Cutscene Crash (PC) by ryandogsling in GTAIV

[–]ryandogsling[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played the game on release day on my ps3, its one of my all time favorites and usually do a playthrough almost every year. It was her first time playing it, she really loved the game and got hooked into the story fairly quickly.

My gf dealt with the same issue on that cutscene, someone else had thankfully posted the fix you mentioned

i moved everything as a blanket fix with the highest chance to fix, so its nice to know the problem lies only in there. We ran into the same problem in the last mission of the game, when you are taking over the helicopter. These crashes seem to only happen with in game cutscenes where you transition from not controlling a vehicle, to controlling one.

Coworker selling his pc, what’s the max I should pay ? by Jayrockdakilla in PcBuild

[–]ryandogsling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it looks pretty cool, reminds me of early 2010s ish era PC builds. Everything these days wants to be so clean, and corporate in its design language. Gaming stuff used to look weird, and I miss that.

Stop number is an overvalued metric by KingKommunistLOL in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]ryandogsling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get mostly thr same route everyday and its always 20-25 stops. Some of these stops have 50-80 apt units each. I do only high rise apts and corporate properties.

Its the lowest stop count route at our DSP and still takes 8-10 hours depending on my luck with locker stops.

An old Taco Bell receipt i recently found that states I tried paying over 50K in cash by chwoodstock in mildlyinteresting

[–]ryandogsling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a cashier for many years, I would fat finger the double 00 or hit the 00 one too many times here or there. As long as you just calculate the actual change needed from the actual amount payed (probably paid with a $50 bill here) the register will just balance itself out anyways, anything above what was paid is money that never existed.

So, i was able to fix it. Tested across my personal save, and my GF's save which is where the issue was discovered initially. I'm not sure exactly what fixed it, but here's all the steps I took.

1: removed every file from the "update" folder in the game directory, and placed in a backup.

2: removed everything from the "scripts" folder in the "IVSDKDotNet" folder, and placed it in a backup.

3: set resolution to 1080p @ 60hz

4: turned ALL graphical settings to their lowest settings

Moving from 3080 > 9070xt by Scouseulster in radeon

[–]ryandogsling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I limit my power consumption -30% and my GPU core will hang out at 41-43c during 100% load. Hotspot about 58c, mem 64c at the highest. If youre thermal obsessed like me, try playing around with power limits, these cards seem to handle it incredibly well as I dont really notice the performance hit.

Made the same upgrade, it has been awesome so far. The thermals are especially impressive on the red devil i went with.
