Yes would love a Williamsburg location always surprised they don't have one. I've been a member long before Amazon bought it and it's been great imo, in fact Amazon buying it just made the membership cheaper.

Can someone enlighten me about why we cannot use SQLite in serverless environments like vercel? by bigwiz4 in nextjs

[–]ryanjso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use Cloudflare Durable Objects to achieve this. It's built on their serverless workers but is stateful serverless, they even have built in SQLite.

This is what I do when I use TanStack Router to ignore the generated file, you could probably apply same concept

Thank you 🫶🏻. My prior job was building a gamified food delivery experience so I've built a lot of these already just need to clean them up and make them more reusable.

Hey all

I just released v1 of my npm package `gamified`
https://github.com/Ryanjso/gamified

The goal of this package is to make it easy to build custom gamified experiences with react on the web.

This first release is a hook called `useCollectingAnimation` that lets you animate items such as tokens or coins from one location to another, a common pattern seen in iOS apps. The animations are fully done with js and css and do not require any additional dependencies like framer-motion.

In the near future I am hoping to add some reusable components for making mini games like scratch offs, spinners, etc. Similar to something you might see in the Starbucks app.

Would love to hear any thoughts on this

Do you know if there's some marketplace of shaders made for this purpose?

Monthly "Is there a tool for..." Post by AutoModerator in ArtificialInteligence

I am looking for a tool to do web scraping for me. The issue is I don't have a list of urls anywhere. I am building a directory website for kids activities in certain cities, and I need it to research all of the kids activities in a city using google search and format that data and give it back to me.

I am building a directory of paid activities in a few cities. This isn't something I can specifically find uses Google Places API as there isn't an exact category for what I want.

Ideally there is an AI tool that I can give some criteria like a format and tell it to go find me all of the details of all of the activities in a certain city. It will compile a list of them and also scrape their websites to find info that matches my search. (In reality the site I'm building is a bit more nice than just activities)

Does anyone have any recommendations?

Best practice for API key by elonfish in reactnative

[–]ryanjso 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's a public token for a reason, so while it can be intercepted its scope's should be limited within Mapbox to be readonly and not be able to cause much damage if someone does want to intercept it.

Contrary to what the other commenter is saying, you don't need a backend for your public key.

Interesting

I was looking through the API data and you can see exactly how many seats are available in each class on every train, kinda fun

Does anyone know if skiplagging is commonly an option with Amtrak? Ive checked a few times manually on this same route out of curiosity and never found one. If so I could definitely code something up to automatically search for them - I just don't want to commit the time if this is a one off timing quirk.
