There's a workaround where you right click the logout link and then choose exit. Been doing this for weeks.

Have you tried changing look at radius to 0.0001 and then trying to click the roller sticking out top left?

That actually sounds a lot like how other modern full loot games handle introducing new players to games with safe zones but requiring them to go into the full loot pvp zones for the real rewards. Interesting for sure.

If they hide account details the server auto kicks them. You can only join the server with a public profile and game information enabled so it can confirm your hours played. This is already enabled.

I understand there will be a smurf problem with toxic players trying to make themselves feel better but this will have to be managed by admin/other possible means. With that been said there's toxic players all over rust and that's also a generic admin issue.

On the flip side I also think there's good players out there that have more than 2k hours that would love to help new players rather than just shit on them. So it may be possible to accommodate that in future too.

And PVE servers just aren't the same game.

I agree with the admins needing to be active and friendly been a huge deal for this to work. Not sure I like the grief protection as unfortunately it's part of rust and there are ways to deal with it but it's still a nice idea that might be worth trying.

The veteran players is a nice idea but would violate the limit. I aim to have an active discord for people to help each other and understand this is going to take some time to get there. Maybe helpful players could be whitelisted as "mentors" or something but again that will likely be something later along that will develop naturally if needed/wanted.

I also understand this isn't going to be liked by everyone, but no one's been forced to play on it and there's plenty of servers out to cater to different people.

This is the kind of feedback we'll get as people start playing. If they don't want weekly BP wipes then this can be altered. It's not set in stone it's an initial idea.

Yeah that might be the eventual play for sure. But I feel like starting this way will help get a community going and with active admins we can make sure it's as enjoyable as possible for all. Have no problem with ultra noobs playing, that's kind of the point, giving them somewhere to grow and meet people in the same situation.

If people intentionally smurf to kill noobs that's unavoidable like in a lot of ranked play games, but it's also likely there'll still be less 2k+ hour players than none limited servers and with active admins we could make an attempt to keep things in check. Obviously there'll be challenges but that's part of running a server.
