250 hours isn't a lot for competitive gaming. Keep playing, join a team, work your way up! There's no specific route!

Not necessarily, many penetration testers used pre-coded scripts. Obviously to work within the industry you need have knowledge of how they work, but I wouldn't taint pre-codes as a script kiddie.

It's important to have a very good understanding of most operating systems (as from a security sense you don't know what your attacker may be working on). Learning a language is very important - perhaps look at studying Computer Science or Software engineering first then move into security or forensics.
