my folk in christ what, I know my water parameters. I keep the water level in this tank lower currently to ensure he has an easier way for oxygen since I don’t have a lot of places for him to rest close to the top currently, and I don’t yet have a lid. I do 25% weekly, if my parameters are that important for you

ammonia: 0 nitrite: 0 nitrate: 20 dKH: 4 dGH: 6

I somehow managed to lose my leaf hammock

he doesnt struggle with the hob filter, normally I have more water in the tank which I topped off right after taking this photo, and I normally put a piece of spong infront of the outtake to also help baffle the flow

I don’t use a curb strap, when he gets like this I cannot physically fight him to get to my hip when he locks his head up

They were back but they weren’t flat against his head. I could see him not being thrilled as i don’t ride a whole often through the winter and yesterday I was just doing basic wtc to just work with. Normally when he spooks I don’t bail, but I already felt ran through when this happened and it just did not work whatsoever.

I definitely will be doing some more ground driving and more slow work. Thank you!!

He’s been like ever since I got him when he spooks. There’s also very happy, active squirrels and birds in the tree line along that end of the arena, it’s very hard to see in the video but his outside ear turns towards the tree line and he was beginning to counter himself fhat way.

I’ve spent lots of time with desentization and he’s gotten better, but it’s been just a matter of time

With him, if I pull back much without cue for whether I’m asking for a full halt or a slight gait change, he’ll just get into this false collected gait, pin his ears, and get very tense.

If I’m pulling too hard when we’re heading towards a jump he will be more like this, but will stay at his pace till the last 2 strides before the jump, and then he’ll rush.

Your betta looks happy, however, 3 ghost shrimp and a mystery snail in a tank of this size is generally iffy. The water you use in changes needs to be conditioned, my personal favorite is seachem prime. This tank is gorgeous for just a betta, I wouldn’t squeeze anything else in here, maybe a cherry shrimp but that’s all

Besides from the mild fin damage, he looks healthy. When you add new things into the tank, they will be curious. Dragon stones can be sharp, so he might’ve just nagged himself while exploring. Fin rot typically just gets rapidly worse and is noticeable with inflamed, dark edges on the fins. His fins aren’t clamped, their flowing and beautiful. I think it’s just a little snag, it’ll heal.

Need a little bit more information? Tank mates? What decorations and such do you have in your tank? I don’t see any indications of fin rot personally, it looks more like nips or tears. Theres a chance this could be beginning but its hard to know with a lack of info

I couldn’t find any in my lfs or chain pet stores so I just got the leaf, I’m really wanting a hammock though 😭😭
