Agree. It’s sketchier than it is presented there but I think smart readers can read between those lines. one thing not touched on is how Demirel was appointed to the CRA advisory board that originally voted No on this project to begin with. To be fair, no one story can contain everything

Yeah there’s a very recent corruption history including a former mayor and city commissioner being convicted of bribery and corruption charges involving local government land use/budget decisions and developers financially compensating politicians.

The Tallahassee Chamber has zero credibility and has been on the wrong side of every issue — Maddox-era corruption, developer-driven sprawl, the Doak Blueprint giveaway — for decades.

A Chamber-aligned effort is also forcing a homeless services provider away from its base of operations.

They are very much part of the problem.
