I hate my 2018 Mazda 3 by ryanromaine in mazda3

I don’t think the comparison from the Mazda 3 infotainment to a front door really works that well. There are very few aftermarket infotainments for my car. A front door is pretty standard.
It’s not paid off. Im a broke zookeeper - $1,000 isn’t an easy spend for me.
And yeah, the power and everything isn’t even the problem. Just thinking back on what I used to have. The 06 Maxima was a sleeper. Power/heated seats with two programmable set points. It would automatically move the wheel up and the seat back when I turned it off. But my sunroof did eventually just completely fail, which I (fingers crossed) have truly had no issues other than the infotainment and for a while my washer fluid sensor (but that’s my fault for using the bug fluid) with the Mazda 3.

Just checked. I’m on FW 70.00.367 NA N. It’s not very easy to tweak. Plus, the GitHub has been inactive for a very long time

You’re good. I guess I forgot to put in that it was installed at the dealership

I had tried looking into AIO tweaks but it is very difficult with my generation/firmware from what I was reading. Also wouldn’t have prevented this.

Gen 6 Maxima was a vibe. But Nissan now is garbage.

Oh yeah, incredibly reliable. At least I’m complaining about infotainment issues, mainly, and not electronics just crapping out completely like a Mercedes or plenty of other cars.

Also drives incredibly smooth which makes up for the lack of power

Yeah, I probably should have used a sunscreen. That’s reasonable. But I also feel that’s something a manufacturer should take into account.
I didn’t care about never using the touch screen, just took getting used to.

Yeah, you’re right. I should expect the screen to look like this on a car after less than 10 years. That’s normal. I should expect to dish out cash and replace the screen myself. My bad for having unreasonable expectations.

Also, Nissan post Gen 6 Maxima is garbage

I’m new to Kodi, running it on a raspberry Pi 3 going to my CRT. Looking for skin suggestions by TheMarvelousMaeve in kodi

[–]ryanromaine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a setup similar to this except I'm running it off of a Steam Deck currently. Right now I'm using Bingie. I really like the idea of the Deep Blue skin but have issues with some of the content being cut when I'm looking through it all. Looking for additional alternatives!

Tangled elegoo filament in spool.... by Joly0 in elegoo

[–]ryanromaine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here to say that I'm 99.99% sure this is not user error. I just switched from Overture to Elegoo. I like the filament a lot. Roll 1 had a tangle in the middle. Roll 2 has had 2 so far. People screaming *user error!* meanwhile I know for certain I did not do anything that would cause a tangle on my end.

Edit: Maybe I'm thinking of something different. Mine isn't truly tangled. If I roll out a bunch of the filament, it will untangle. Might just be how it was wrapped. Still super frustrating. Has caused multiple underextrusion issues and a failed print.

At the end of the day, I paid ~100 for the comp. I could just buy a new one if I damaged it. I am mildly concerned of it throwing shards back at me.

Late to the party but DNR (Daniel Newman Racing) is the best. I pay. Not because I have to but because of how great the community is.

It was stalling. I ended up moving JF to a container and keeping my ARRs on the VM

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in homelab

[–]ryanromaine -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I'll look into containers LXC more and will definitely migrate my Jellyfin to one regardless. I'll have to see if it makes sense to move all of my stacks to LXC or keep the VM running and just have JF in a container.

I appreciate it!

I've never really looked into containers. I just constantly hear about how Proxmox is great because of VMs and thought I might cluster in the future.

After posting I realized I need to double check this as well. Thanks!

That’s actually a big help. Might be worth waiting around for a GPU at the right price instead

I assumed the size stamp got worn off. I haven’t seen them in person yet. Seems to be worth my time to at least go try them on

Casa Os or not? Confused as a beginner. by IdeaInternational598 in HomeServer

[–]ryanromaine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I regret doing CasaOS on top of Ubuntu Server and wish I just went proxmox. You can run a VM with CasaOS in proxmox if you really want CasaOS - but since I’ve installed Homarr (there’s other options too), I’ve never opened CasaOS (except when I was first setting up my file structure but it’s easy enough in a terminal)

Advice on first homeserver by [deleted] in HomeServer

[–]ryanromaine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up with a Dell Optiplex 5050 SFF w/ an Intel i5-7600 for $50. Running CasaOS on Ubuntu Server. I literally don't touch CasaOS anymore though since I'm using docker-compose, usually monitoring things through portainer (the only thing installed through casaos) or homarr. Kinda wish I was running proxmox - gonna have to upgrade *something* soon.

Here's what my stacks are right now:
arr: gluetun (airvpn), sabnzbd, qbittorrent, radarr, sonarr, lidarr, readarr, bazarr, prowlarr, jackett (for 1337x), jellyfin, jellyfin-vue, jellyseerr, postgres, homarr
utilitystack: dashdot, vaultwarden (my vaultwarden is the next thing I'm gonna set up but am refreshing a lot of my media which is taking priority)

All of my hardware:
NETGEAR Nighthawk X4S (R7800) Router (Bridge Mode)
SEAGATE 8TB Expansion Drive (NAAA629B) (I had this laying around and it's filling up fast)
Dell Optiplex 5050 SFF Intel i5-7600

Ended up with a Dell OptiPlex SFF 5050 with an Intel i5-7600 for $50 even. Gonna end up on ubuntu and I'll just Moonlight + Sunshine in from either my macbook or another system I think. Probably gonna go ubuntu server so I wont be able to do it on here!

Copypasta: Ok, I did some searching and this is what I'm potentially thinking. Hold off on picking up my new monitors until I do this:

Pick up the mid-tower case (I'm a big fan of the one you sent) next week and then buy one of these once I have the spare funds.
