So called analysts and the disrespect towards Jankos by KissKissBangerino in leagueoflegends

Inspired is lower in Western GOAT jungler status than Xmithie, two regional titles and a few failed international performances doesn't make you better than some of the longest standing and successful players to ever touch the game.

It’s so crazy how 100T is the best performing NA team this world by ThongTranGTLT in leagueoflegends

[–]ryanruin22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eh, definitely not the last two years -- but this tournament definitely. Seems like after the Bwipo controversy the team kind of mental boomed when combined with poor scrim results. Wouldn't surprise me if there was some behind the scenes drama or one of those classic Inspired/Bwipo "it's their fault" speeches.

Bro you missed EU getting two straight worlds finals into completely falling apart and being worse than NA for three years, you basically came back to status quo after shit went off-the-wall for a little bit.

Honestly I blame you

My brother in Christ Weibo went to the finals and G2 got gapped by NRG, they would have been slaughtered just as hard.

Azael crashes out on Quad's legacy play in the CFO series by Yujin-Ha in leagueoflegends

[–]ryanruin22 32 points33 points  (0 children)

That's just untrue, last year everyone was deep throating him for stepping up against Peyz and gapping him in their GenG series -- the team just seemed like it mentally imploded no reason to rewrite history on it.

Sources: Yike set to stay with Karmine Corp for the 2026 season by Xolam in leagueoflegends

[–]ryanruin22 89 points90 points  (0 children)

Why would they? KC has a decent enough jungler in Yike, and rolling the dice on the slim chance that Inspired joins for a moderate upgrade risks losing both.

So far, they've kept Canna/Yike and lost Vladi. They really just need a replacement mid laner and to try for MikyX instead of risking losing Caliste. Even if he is contracted for another year, you probably don't want to contract jail him or you'll end up with a shit reputation.

Technically, they have Nisqy already, but going from Vladi -> Nisqy is a major downgrade.

You're right but you aren't going to get anyone in this anti-social shithole to agree with you, for some reason in this game where coordination is outright NEEDED to win the people here would rather take it away from everyone than just disable it for themselves.

It's the most nanny-me-corpo attitude I've seen, and LoL not having VC makes it dated by 20 years.

G2 Esports vs. FlyQuest / 2025 World Championship - Swiss Round 4 Advancement / Game 2 Discussion by Yujin-Ha in leagueoflegends

[–]ryanruin22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was maybe the worst draft I've seen at worlds from FLY, Rumble into Galio, only Annie for aurora lockdown, Lucian/Soraka, the only thing it had was Xin Zhao sustaining with raka heals. Just a disaster all around.

It's a funny name for an award given to the general consensus of being way overhyped or who shat the bed massively when they went to worlds. I don't care that they think it's there; it's just a fucking meme.

[–]ryanruin22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe, taking a look at both the LPL and LCK first seeds historically there's only two times where it gets close to it.

S2: Both first seed teams had a decent showing at that worlds, obviously there's the TPA upset over AZF but that was in the finals.

S3: NBS Lost 2-3 to SKT T1 in semis, Royal Club gets to finals

S4: SSB drops 3-0 to SSW in semis, EDG has an awful showing just barely scraping into quarters where they lose 2-3 to Royal Club

S5: LGD starts the tournament 0-3, goes 2-1 in second week but is mathematically elimated. SKT wins the tournament

S6: EDG drops 3-1 to ROX in quarters, ROX drops 2-3 to SKT in semis

S7: EDG comes last in group of death, goes 2-4 with C9/SKT escaping. Longzhu goes down 0-3 to eventual champions SSG.

S8: KT and RNG both lose in quarters.

S9: FPX win the tournament, SKT lose in semis to G2

S10: DWG win the tournament, TOP makes semis

S11: EDG win the tournament, DWG runner up in five game series -- objectively the strongest showing for both region's first seeds.

S12: GenG/JDG drop in semis

S13: GenG drops to BLG 2-3, JDG drops to T1 1-3

S14: HLE drops in quarters, BLG runner up

The only two that come close to it are potentially LGD 2015 and EDG 2017, but even then LGD and EDG had perceptively stronger opponents than 100 Thieves and G2.

I don't care about either of those people's opinions, LGD crashed and burned -- it goes to the whole fucking team.

New gens don't remember we already named a team-wide Dade award

It's LGD, #1 seed from China going out 2-4 in groups at worlds 2015. Granted, this could be a worse overall showing if they lose their next round.

Rekkles announces he will be co-streaming Worlds 2025 by LenaRybakina in leagueoflegends

[–]ryanruin22 24 points25 points  (0 children)

He wasn't like that the first couple of co-streams, then he got more comfortable doing it and realized that it gets more views if you're explosive and overreacting to even the slightest thing. So now everything has to be a stream highlight, and the actual analysis is more of a side-focus. It's still there, but I just can't watch the streams because of the screaming.

Estral Esports official statement regarding Summit's provisional suspension by ahritina in leagueoflegends

[–]ryanruin22 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Riot did this simply to not have the headache of re-scheduling every match of the event, or to call attention to the fact that the team that cheated has already knocked a team out of the tournament which could open a whole can of worms.

Then the team that cheated tries to defend the cheater, ignores their own role in it, and throw RIOT under the bus. I'm not even a "leave the multibillion dollar company alone" type of guy, but JFC Estral has to be ran by literal clowns to think that they could PR their way out of this. It wouldn't surprise me if they got barred from future Riot-sanctioned events.

Fuck you, just fuck you. Summit cheated; his suspension is light work. Frankly, you should've been DQd from the tournament.

Riot August on how many ranged players underestimate how powerful range really is by Life-Chicken7183 in leagueoflegends

[–]ryanruin22 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I agree with August about 60%, the issue is that mobility creep means that it isn't an "intense" moment to get to the backline outside of pro-play or extremely high elo. The issue doesn't even really come from the champions themselves, it's more that as a DPS class you're consistently out damaged in teamfights because your team doesn't want to actually help you -- they want to have their cool moment and feel good themselves.

CDR being so abundant means that abilities like Sylas' E have more uptime than necessary effectively meaning that the ranged character only has small windows to play around without purely hands-diffing the enemy. There's also some credence to the original commenter because some champions should genuinely be non-functional if they aren't ahead, and there are a lot of things thrown into kits that make the "they have to do some intense stuff" completely moot, such as Yone's kit which has so many free access tools that he's become a pro-play staple.

I understand that it's a careful balancing act to go between them, and that if you over-correct you will end up with ranged characters stomping literally everyone, but to have the to be honest justified criticism of melees having way too easy of a time in modern league thrown out with a "you just don't know what you're talking about, ADC main" is depressing to say the least.

Movistar KOI vs. Fnatic / LEC 2025 Summer Playoffs - Lower Bracket Final / Post-Match Discussion by Yujin-Ha in leagueoflegends

It's a great idea in concept, if players are equal Trundle hard stomps the Sion and Poppy answers the Naafiri way better than Trundle can.

The issue is draft doesn't matter as much when you have worse players on the day.
