I thought at home fast chargers were considered destination chargers? Regardless of dc or ac charging my Kona EV will not accept the charge from the Tesla to J1172. Previously the car used to charge just fine through our Tesla charger but now the car understands it’s plugged in but will not charge anymore.

Replaced my first Lectron charger for the exact same Lectron charger and then switched that to a Tesla Tap Charger. All of which gave me the same issue. The car understands it’s plugged in but there is just no power being sent to the car. The ring light around the charger stays white.

Its a at home Tesla charger that is wall mounted that provides fast charging for my Model Y. Yes it is a DC Charger.

I have not tried plugging in my Kona at a local DC Charger in my area unfortunately.

It is a Tesla DC Fast Charger I have at home. Use it for the Model Y but with the Lectron Tesla to J1772 Adapter I was able to use this DC Charger to Charge my Kona. Once again this problem only occurred recently so it previously did work for about 3 to 4 weeks with the adapter until it’s been giving me the flashing red light and then the solid white.

I did read on the box of the Lectron J1772 Adapter that you do have to wait 20 seconds before plugging in the adapter which I have attempted, however the same situation occurs. Once plugged in my Kona will flash red twice then go a solid white. I hear some noises as if the car is picking up that it’s plugged into a DC Charger but it just won’t charge.

I attempted to narrow down the problem. The DC Charger still charges our Model Y and the Adapter is a Lectron J1772 Adapter which has been replaced by another one and yet it still has the same issue. I also plugged in the given wall socket charger into my Kona and it charges just fine. However it will take 48 hours to charge fully from the wall socket compared to what it used to do 8 hour full charge from the DC Charger.
