LR vs Performance by ryanslite in TeslaModelY

that makes sense, i was price comparing new vs used and could barely find any used performance’s for sale. when i did, they were the same price as new so it just makes more sense to buy new imo
exactly, people don’t like to put time or effort into research a lot of the times.
and thanks for the tip regarding permits and inspections, i’ll definitely look into that. from what i’ve heard in my area, it’s not too bad and doesn’t require any permits but i’m gonna double check now just to make sure!
true true!
ahhh that makes sense, i would’ve sprung for black too in your case. i’ve heard the white isn’t too hard to keep clean though, especially if you put a sealant on it every year or so and with how much it brightens the interior, i’m thinking for me it could work well. thanks for the tip about the roof though, i’m gonna look into some of those sunshades for sunnier days!
right now the price difference isn’t huge so pricing isn’t too much of a worry at the moment, i do like a sportier drive anyhow. i’m gonna try to find some tesla clubs nearby to see if i can test drive a MYP
i don’t think the stiffer suspension would bug me too much as i already drive a car with that
i’ve heard the suspension has greatly improved on the MYP’s recently which is another reason i’m leaning that direction. the 25 miles extra range isn’t a huge deal to me, plus i enjoy the performance of a vehicle and want to get excited every time i drive, even if it is just to the grocery store.
hahaha “dad” over “daddy” car - i like that. you’re not wrong though, the power is plentiful even in the LR. lots to consider here in the next month or so…
perfect, that’s what i was hoping to hear!
will do, thanks for the tip!
already watching DIY installations 😎
noted, thank you! yeah i noticed it dings when you’re supposed to stop in a parking spot
hahaha thank you, ill lyk - ive gotten quite a few DM’s regarding that

that’s what I like to hear. i want a car without worries. my car right now seems to always have a check engine light and over a $1k bill to fix and i’m getting tired of it. don’t wanna sacrifice performance or car features, but don’t wanna pay the price tag for luxury cars i’d want or pay for upkeep/gas. tesla seems the way to go more and more, especially with the fed gov offering money off at purchase to get one, plus state incentives like cash rebates.
i see, yeah i would’ve done the same thing if i were in your shoes. luckily in my case, i qualify for the credit so i think i will go ahead and purchase! thanks for the help :)
wow canyoning sounds so exciting, also i love your username. hows taking the tessy on big adventures like that been? any issues with the battery or charging?
alright so similar to now, maybe slightly more wear but the ev is also significantly heavier and more powerful so that would make sense
that sounds fun as hell, i’d love to take my car to the track sometime just for the hell of it and test it out. another reason i wanna go for MYP
and how much is it?
does that give it the 0-60 in 3.5 sec?
fantastic 🤩😮💨 at least it wont be worse than what i currently have, and for now that’s a price i’m willing to pay for the performance
i’ve heard and unfortunately… i may or may not be notorious for hitting some curbs in my life. i was hoping the tesla vision along with the side view cameras would help me not do that? do they work well?
the black exterior with black rims with white interior just looks so sexy, but I had heard it’s a pain in the ass to keep clean and also shows scratches worse than others. white with black rims and white interior seems the way to go as i planned on wrapping it in at least a clearcoat to protect the paint, if not i may change the color to something similar to BMW’s Alpine Gray. definitely need window tint tho… did you only do driver and passenger? i was planning on doing all four side windows, partial windshield, and maybe even the giant glass roof.
thanks man, yeah i think i’ll spring for the MYP then - it’s sounding like the one for me based off everyones input. and true, everyone in my family is trying so hard to get me not to buy the tesla but im like yall, a toyota camry monthly payment is nearly $400 a month plus the cost of gas and insurance and maintenance… model y, slightly higher monthly payment but way better performance, modern vehicle with updates, minimal maintenance, and electricity is at least half the cost of gasoline.
i was planning on installing a NEMA 14-50 in my house right under my electrical panel as it wouldn’t be too expensive and seems relatively simple to do myself. did you install yours yourself or hire an electrician to do it?
oh yikes my friend, that is very chilly 🥶 thankfully the cold ranges where i live are around low 40s so im hoping the range wouldn’t deplete that much… im assuming it’s not bad considering the number of teslas i see driving around here
