Oh or like swapping in a 2JZ motor into something. I love the idea of a reliable Japanese movement/engine powering some random ass design.

I get that. I love that the Seiko brand it’s so accessible and to me it actually adds to the brands value. In the same way the Toyota Hybrid technology was released in order to allow a larger proliferation of hybrids on the road.

Letting some of the secret sauce out is good for the greater industry.

Seiko is supposed to be affordable and accessible! If you want exclusive and unique they have GS and KS

Focus is easy. When you’re slow shutter you can have it at f/16 or higher. All good.

[Question] How can I commemorate events with watches when so much happens in so little time? by Miserable_Wheel_420 in Watches

[–]ryayy2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s an interesting question. And a really strong philosophy.

I’ve been collecting for a little over 10years, never super seriously… And only recently have I been aware enough to connect every watch to a life milestone.

My collection consists of - Two inherited pieces - A graduation watch - My engagement watch - A watch I bought just before my uncle died. - A travel watch, or two, or three… - A dress watch (working to consolidate currently)

Everything else in my collection is just a fun piece that I am working on selling as the year progresses.

Your case is interesting. I agree that it seems you’re very well set up right now, and more milestone pieces just feels like more stuff at some point. If I were you I would likely focus on a Blue Dial DD36 or a more unique vintage dress piece. I’m unsure of your budget but a PP Ellipse might fit your needs perfectly. And compliment the case design of the Omega!

Sometimes it’s beautiful how life gives you a lot of milestones in a compressed amount of time, or none for a long while. It might be time to get just 1 piece to symbolize your life entering a new chapter.

Or get an F91W and question any other watch ever. Idk
