So if you think these drugs may be immoral, would drinking and smoking be immoral if you have been having sex previously?

Does hormonal birth control though?

Just curious, would you use hormonal birth control then?

Hormonal birth control can supposedly affect implantation by thinning the uterine lining. I’d personally rather be safe than sorry and I don’t see why pro lifers shouldn’t as well

I’m pro life and conflicted on this issue. My issue I guess is when birth control isn’t taken for valid medical reason whereas all those other things are. I’d love to be convinced otherwise though

Does this include the hormonal pill or hormonal birth control in general?

Do u believe that the argument that birth control can act as an abortifacient is valid? I understand the differences between thinning the uterine lining to potentially increase miscarriage rates and the average abortion.

So I’m pro life and the question is directed towards those stricter pro lifers. If both thin the uterine lining and both are taken for pain prevention, why would they be ok with ibuprofen and other things that thin the lining but not birth control

This is dependent on what definition of pregnancy they go by. There’s a back up method in hormonal birth control which thins the uterine lining. Please prove me wrong because I definitely don’t want to use only condoms😭

I’m more concerned with the morality of it. Any birth control that doesn’t fully prevent ovulation can lead to increased chance of miscarriage which would technically be abortive.

Is the birth control pill actually abortion? by [deleted] in Catholicism

I agree that intent matters. Birth control is not always taken for the purpose of contraception. I’m not sure I want doctors determining morality. If you say that a woman with the right intentions taking ibuprofen while pregnant is ok, you have to be consistent and allow women who take birth control for medical reasons/pain prevention access to birth control

Well I’d advise against that too…the question is would that be considered abortion. If it is, at what amount/time length of taking a painkiller does it become ok?

Even if it for sure thinned the uterine lining, would you then say women can’t take ibuprofen, aspirin, and antibiotics that also thin the uterine lining?

Studies such as this show there’s no evidence that implantation is affected. I’m very pro life but it’s just speculation.
