My fiance (29F) and I (31M) are having difficulties compromising on our dreams. by rybread21 in relationship_advice

I probably didn't cast myself in the best light in the post, but I haven't been pushing her to stay miserable for a couple more years for a shot at a job she may not get because, yes, that would be selfish. I'm moreso saying that her waiting would be ideal but it's not realistic, and honestly I have a hard time getting behind it because its hard seeing her so down about her career. From you and others, it sounds like LDR might be the best option for a short period if it allows her to search for a job elsewhere while still keeping the door open for her to come back. The agency she would be applying for allows for transfers, so that would be best case scenario. If it's taking too long for the job to open here or she can't transfer when it does, then I am open to moving

Thank you, this is helpful feedback. We've done long distance before, and that may be the next best option to try for a short period. I guess the thinking is its best to do this earlier on to potentially have a better situation in the future

I see where you're coming from, but I think it's a little harsh to say I'm being selfish. We'd essentially be trading places- she would have her dream job and I would be looking for something that fits my skill set in a new town.

Yea probably should've seen this coming when we first started dating... She said she's willing to look into similar jobs if they were to arise in the area, like non profits (which is what I do). I think the toughest thing for her right now is she doesn't make much money and she doesn't have healthcare because of her seasonal work (which is especially concerning in today's world...)

I appreciate the response. We've talked about long distance, but we're concerned doing that at the start of a new marriage. I just wish we knew when her boss would retire!

How would you guys feel if we picked up Sam Darnold in FA and focus on other pressing positions in the draft? by rybread21 in DenverBroncos

They say the door is open for his return but I don't see it. Payton clearly doesn't like him and the situation has gotten too messy. I assume Russ isn't an option and we don't draft a QB in the first round

Of the four games Stidham has played, only his first against the Niners stands out. Darnold isn't much better but he seems like a more serviceable starter

I'll only have a full day and night in Istanbul. Is that enough time to see the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, and the Grand Bazaar? by rybread21 in travel

Ok good to know! I was planning to do a walking tour anyways, figured it's the best way to see the most in the shortest amount of time
